G30U gravel frame on AliX?
« on: June 19, 2025, 09:44:59 AM »
I saw this G30U gravel frame on AliX today and thought it looked interesting. Is this a frame that already exists from a known manufacturer or anything?

Stack/reach looks suuuuper relaxed, almost too relaxed at 1.48-1.59 depending on size. Claimed tire clearance is 50c which I like. Up until this year it seemed like none of the Chinese frames could go bigger than 45c.

Several people have posted here about the G30U and the GT30, which appear to be the same geometry.  I just bought the older version of the GT30, with the partial internal cabling.  These frames are also available from SpCycle and Airwolf.  Search the forum for 'cwind' or 'g30 u' with the space and you'll find some hits.  One guy on Youtube has a video on building up the GT30 with full internal cabling.  I'm not sure how that differs from the G30U.  I thought it might be the UDH that was responsible for the 'U' in the model #, but actually my frame shipped with a UDH, even though the website suggested it would have a different one, like the one in the video at the point I linked to.

I agree with you on the geometry.  That's why I chose the frame.  It's the closest stack/reach ratio I can find to my 2022 Merida Silex.  Seraph makes one, the GR047, that's not too far off, but the CWind has more tire clearance than the Seraph or the Silex.
