Can't wait to get my Permeants branded ST-09 built up, just waiting on Zeno's new hydraulic couplers to arrive as fancied giving them a go on this build. They should come any day now so will hopefully have it all built by early February.

Will report on the Niu Ju clamp next week as I am about to receive it, but hardware looks the same and screw is the same length. You can ask Alisa for a 7x9 saddle clamp just in case.

Thru axles are:
M12xP1.0 168.5mm, measured by me: 18mm thread length
M12xP1.5 116mm, measured by me: 10mm thread length

Couldn’t find similar lightweight thru axles… let me know if you find some

I am considering the following thru axles for the frame:

Front:
Extralite BlackLock 12.5 A
Length 116 mm   
Thread length 12.5 mm  (+2.5 mm)
Pitch M12x1.5

Rear:
Extralite BlackLock 12.4
Length 168 (-0.5 mm)
Thread length 17 mm  (- 1 mm)
Pitch M12x1

The front one is the same length but has more thread.
The rear one is 0.5 mm too short and has one mm less thread. Do you think that's a problem?

Unfortunately, I can't find any others. Or do you have any other good suggestions?

Ordered a size M, will update as I build it.

Build is planned with HBR17 lightcarbon handlebar, AERORAPTOR Tagoola 50/60mm wheelset and 105 di2.

What are people’s opinions regarding clamping the seatpost lower than the grippy surface that it comes finished with? I haven’t properly ridden the bike yet but just deriving measurements from other bikes I’m worried I’ll have to lower it past the grip tape on the leading edge of the seat post. I’m running size small and reckon I’ve got shorter than average legs

Also is everyone tightening the clamp to the printed torque on the clamp?
What about the saddle clamp?

Inspecting the frame, I feel some sharp edges on the chainstays. Is this finish normal  in that area?

And there are also some loose fibers around the head tube. Has anyone else noticed this?

Could you post some pictures? Is it the paint? What finish did you get?

We are in! Started putting together but will probs take about a week to fit in time.

Overall the frame looks very well put together and super sturdy.

I got the unpainted matte. There is a bit of untidiness around BB and disc brake surfaces but should be relatively easy to tidy.

Have gone with the Serenade 4550 Wavy wheelset and Lightcarbon HBR17 bars.

I believe that's the mechanical shifting hole. If you take off the FD hanger there's another opening and the FD hanger has a little cut out for the wire to pass through. There is however no cover for the mechanical shifting hole. I was planning on just 3d printing a little plug eventually.


I just received my frame. Paid Jan 13 and it arrived in Canada Jan 30th. Incredibly fast. I guess they had a size small in stock and I just went with the transparent green paint.

I just used a glob of black sugru to cover mine. It's a standard practice for me on bike frames. It will comes out fairly cleanly if you want to pick it out later.

Hi all,

I've been ordering components to be prepared when my frame (XL) is delivered.
I did just recieve my wheelset and got a bit of a surprise, i orderd a wheelset 45x35 i28 thinking of going allroad tires/wheels.
There were no profile pictures of the rim and when i measure these fatboys are bulging at the waist to a 38mm witdh.
On paper its still a nice wheelset 1377gr wo rimtape for ca $400 shipped and taxed, but will it fit?

Those of you who have the frame, do you think they will fit or do i need to search for slimmer alternatives?

Finally got it built.

Deviated from my original plan of a fully integrated cockpit to separate bar stem.

This has been built with a relaxed fit in mind for some 200-400km audax events I have signed up for this year.
