What is the gap like between your headset cover and the frame with the normal ACR headset? Are you using 8mm bearings upper and lower? I've ordered the frame and starting to get the parts together. Getting the low stack version seems impossible in the UK (the one Sazikashi mentions). I found one from the US but they want 85 dollars shipping to UK on eBay. Thanks in advance.

So regarding the TPU printed covers for the seatpost clamp. I did not understand how hard the TPU would be. It sort of works. The upper profile is about right, but the part needed to try and keep the insert down were too big so I had to cut them to fit and without it, it does curl up per the second photo.

I am trying again, so we can revisit my second try in about 10 days.

What BB is every one using? Do you need a 85.5mm version or a 86.5mm version? It's only 1mm difference, but it seems one will not fit the other...

Someone more authoritative should chime in, but my understanding is that 86.5/85.5 isn't meaningfully different as long as they are T47 internal BB -- for instance, BBInfinite's DUB Internal T47 is 86.5 https://www.bbinfinite.com/products/t47-threaded-internal-dub-road-bottom-brackets?variant=37605952290972 vs the SRAM DUB one I have is https://www.biketiresdirect.com/product/sram-dub-t47-bottom-bracket is 85.5 -- probably what changes is the spacer? From what I have read the flanges on the 85.5 version are a little wider than the 86.5 version to compensate for the 1mm difference. So if you have a crankset that has a spindle that is short and does not need spacers, the wider flanges in a 86.5mm BB shell can be too wide.
But I guess I am over-analysing

I am using a Wolftooth BB I managed to get for cheap. The primary reason is that it uses the same Enduro spline pattern as another BB I already have a nice tool for. It is a 85.5mm BB, but I think most T47i now go between 85.5mm and 92mm. I always measure the crank position relative to the seat tube centerline when preloaded and correct with 0.5mm spacers, and I rely on the suggested setup only as a starting point.

If cost were not a factor, my preferred setup for Dub is to use either a Hope BB or an Enduro ACB BB with 30mm bearings, and then use the aluminum Hope dub reducers/tophats as a softer wear surface between my cranks and the bearing races. IMO, the bike-specific 29mm and 24mm bearings are a step backwards. Very cheap plastic reducers/top hats have started to appear on AliExpress as well, and I've used them on a build and been happy with how they have held up too.

Hey all, I've updated the first post to include the information on clear coat finishes, the BB standard, and the Di2 holder being missing.
