In general the reputable brands are better because:
1) they adhere to the ISO / ABEC standards ensuring tight dimensional tolerances and roundness.
2) they use higher quality materials. No-name brands might cut corners with softer steel, poorly heat-treated parts, or inconsistent ball quality.
3) they use superior sealing and lubrication. The bad sealings will fail quickly, allowing contaminants in—accelerating wear.
I'm not saying cheap bearings don't have any of the above, but cutting corners in material, tolerances, quality is often the reason why they cost less.
For bottom brackets I stick to NTN or SKF, for wheel bearings (where the hubs provide a primary seal, I dare to use cheap bearings as well with good longevity.
One of the reasons for this strategy is the loads are higher on those bearings and it takes more time to replace BB bearings.
