Author Topic: Going to China for 1 month - is it possible to directly buy there?  (Read 5061 times)

Hello everyone,

I will be in China for 1 month next month travelling without any suit case.
Would like to buy at least a wheel  set for 1.5k euro.
Would it be possible to order and be delivered at my hotel in Beijing?  Idk if it's feasible and if it is worth It for tax and tariffs.
I can buy a suitcase for the return and put the wheel set in here, but same story, Idk if it is even possible.
Any information?
Also looking for wheels recommendation, interested in Farsports but open for other brands that fits my budget (looking for 50mm deep wheels.)

Thanks,

Edit: I won't bring my bike, simply want to buy a carbon wheel set and bring it back with me.

Bike bags are over sized luggage
So you need to call your airline and inform them before, usually there is an upcharge

Besides that, I doubt that anyone won't ship to your hotel, most stuff costs way less on taobao anyway
I guess you could find a bike store and they would even assemble everything for u

In addition you've the Chinese consumer brands, which we don't know

Thanks so much for the detailed answer, really appreciate.
Will def contact Peter and maybe directly brands to see what they each offer.
I am kinda new to the forum and only know of the big chinese brands such as Winspace, Elves, Elite, Farsport.
What would you recommend for a carbon wheel set with ceramic bearings , carbon spoke (basically high end stuff) arround 1300g with 50mm depth ?
You are also right, I will buy chains, cassettes, chainrings and carbon cranksets, also considering handlebars because my wife will also be able to carry my shit haha.

Thanks again and looking forward for your recommendation.

Max tyre clearance on my bike is 30mm (endurace cf so 8 2021), I have 32mm tubeless tyre with 22mm inner width, accroding to some ressearch and measurement, I wonder if the 26 width would fit, what are the real difference between the 24mm and 26mm widht ?
I added photo of my current clearance.
I also weight 90kg, should I go with 5mm spoke assuming they increase weight capacity?
