what makes sexy aero frames to my eyes are the very thin seat tubes, when you watch them from behind.
Maybe is more critical to make a thin one (like almost top aero frames), but they really did their best to make it bad looking :) especially in the part where the saddle fits.

Yes, a wide fork would be in the theme. It seems that this is a new direction in aero.

I agree but it doesnt bothers me because it is something they could do it in the future if they want or we could probably find an aftermarket one. From an engineering perspective i have read that there are big gains if its properly done (maybe some engineer could explain it here 8)).

By the way another thing i like about this frame it´s that at least on the bigger sizes (i still havent seen the XL) seatstays apear to be really low compared to other aero bikes (not the new Argon 18) which in theory should help with comfort and maybe aero.

Any of you looking at it in terms of fit and geo?
I kinda love the stealth bomber silhouette 8) but the main attraction was to try something different to the established norms.

The legs of the wide fork cover your legs. At least a little bit. And the steps of the foot can cover the back feathers a little.

I got mine solely for the geometry. The aero was purely a bonus, as with the looks (honest your honour).  Steeper STA, much greater saddle offset from the TT seatpost, and reasonable Stack:Reach ratio.  There were very few other options I could find, buy and afford.

A Noah Fast 3.0 was good but I think is only 0 offset on the saddle. Oh and it's 5k for the frame alone.

Also considered a Look 785 Huez with FastForward seatpost, and a Ribble AllRoad with the same but when I saw the AeroTrace it blew them all away on all geometry, looks and cost.  Choice of colours, bar options etc were an added bonus.  That said, it is replacing my only bike so I'm a little nervous that I've gone OTT  ;D

Chris sent me these recently of size 46 and 49 in case anyone else wants to have a look as well. Seems like one of the photos is the same as the one on Instagram.

What bars are better HB010 or HB050?

Mostly personal preference - the geometry in terms of reach and drop is the same for both.  The only difference I'm aware of is that the HB-050 (the straight bar) comes in one extra size 380/110 that the HB-010 does not.

here we go, already the first signs of bad build quality

cross threading between rear axis and udh hanger - head of the rear axis got stripped while trying to unscrew the axis. now everything is fixed at the rear  ;D

does anyone have experience with a stripped and cross-threaded rear axis?

Have you tried reaching out to velobuild? looks like a manufacturing defect in the UDH hanger (which thankfully can be replaced). Send them some photos and i'm sure they will sort it out.

It's more severe than that.

I cannot remove the rear axis anymore, because it's already cross-threaded with the udh rear hanger.

I can't remove the udh rear hanger, because its cross-threaded to the axis.

I can't remove the axis, because the head screw is completely stripped (very soft material).

my rear wheel is completeley locked

Okay so what you will need is a screw extractor. A proper bike shop should have them and be able to help you with that. Otherwise you should be able to get a set at any decent hardware store, but they should also be used with a power drill.

Not sure how much of this is down to user error and not having a professional bike mechanic background or experience and how much it is down to quality.
I've seen clients do this with much much more expensive western frames.
