uffff she rips! Went out for a short shake out spin this afternoon and the AeroTrace felt reeeallly good. Some of it has to be the new shoes effect of course, but it genuinely felt fast. Stiff in all the right places, responsive, fast on the flats, climbed fine. Really pleased so far.

Seatpost: At the recommended 8Nm it was easily slipping when pushing down. At 8.5 I got it to hold and could sit on it and ride in the alley but when I went over the first bumps on the road it came down again. I tightened it on the side of the road with a multi tool to what felt tight enough, and it held fine for the rest of the time. Will try to see what torque that is as I need to bring it down a tad.

Frame and SRAM RD: The RD movement was blocked by the frame as those with the first version of the frame have reported but after adjusting the B screw enough to clear it, shifting has been totally ok. I can probably make some more effort to fine tune it as well including the FD as I just thew it on without dialing it in and it's also fine.

Yes, of course. Unfortunately, the frame won't be ready before Christmas as I thought. I'll be able to share the weight, photos, and details around mid-January.

building up this frame for a friend in Germany, 178cm tall. We ordered size 49 in chameleon white.

Spec of the build will be:
1by Wheeltop Gravel Groupset (1300grams)
Bitranz Carbon Wheels 65mm (32mm ext, carbon spokes, 1320 grams for the pair)
Leese Crankset DUB with 54T Chainring (around 500 grams)
Goldix 12spd, 10-46 cassette at 284grams
ZTTO chain 254 grams not shortened
Handlebar we ordered the integrated version of velobuild,
Saddle is a schmolke replica at 60 gram, Onrii Pedals 200 grams, Bottlecages 17 gram per piece
GP5000s in 28mm width (230 gram per piece)
Ridenow tubes 28g per piece

Hoping overall to archive well under 8kgs.

Just go onto their Custom Paint tab and look through the frames, of cause not every frame is shown in every color, but you get a quite good impression.

Got the bike finished. I'll upgrade stuff during the next months to get it down in weight and maybe add a bit of bling, so it's ready for any possible spring races. If I go for complete upgrade package I should be able to shave a bit more than 1 kg and get close to 7.0 kg.

For the RD I'm thinking of trying some asymmetric pulley wheels to get them closer to the cassette and see if I can get ZTTO (or maybe Goldix) cassette to work - maybe the people having issues running SRAM could try that as well.

Current wheel set is Nextie 45mm with 29mm internal width and 40mm max width. Continental GP TR 32mm measures 35mm and tyre and the rim clears with about 2-3mm clearance at the chain stay so probably around the widest one can fit without big risk of either rim or tyre hitting the frame at the chain stays.

Quick questions if you don’t mind:
1. What handlebar/cockpit are you running right now?
2. Where do you think your biggest weight savings will come from (cassette/chainch/saddle, etc.)?

What color is this frame?

I'm not sure. I just sent a reference photo (link below) and they got it pretty bang on. Light purple metallic-ish is how I would describe it.

took out the new build for a proper ride for the first time, just under 130km (yes risky for a new build) and it performed flawlessly. time will tell on the differences for this frame compared to other VB frames, but so far so great.

Felt stiff where it needed to be, yet comfortable. Absorbed road vibrations well. Did not feel slugish at all. Handlebars felt super solid, the stiffest VB bars I've ridden so far.
