Hello everyone,

Sorry I failed and double posted on the e-bike section as well.

I am thinking about turning my semi integrated cable setting into a fully integrated one.

I have bought a second hand mechanical shifting groupset (Ultegra 11sp) + hydraulic disc braking to replace my former Ultegra 11sp with rim brake system. Then I may take the opportunity to fiddle around with cable integration. My frame is a CBT Italia Necer plus that can accept both rim or disc brakes.

The handle bar and cockpits that I use is Aliexpress Kovcelo that I think is well suited to run cable through them.

The fork doesn't have any hole to pass the cable housing of the disc brake through the cockpit, so I plan to purchase a new fork on Aliexpress (Kovcelo brand as well i reasonably cheap like 80€ vs a new cheap frame 500€)

The main drawback of my current frame is that I don't have the room to pass a shifting cable housing up to the FD, but I can at least pass a short length of housing down to the diagonal tube.

Do you think there will be a loss of tension due to the lack of mechanical end stop?

Regarding the space for passing cables, I have seen that Luke from TraceVelo youtube channel had achieved to pass all the 4 cable housings into a og-evkin cockpit without loss of shifting accuracy.

What do you think of that project, has it a reasonable chance to succeed? Have any of you already tried this kind of set-up?

I can't tell from the pictures but I assume there has to be some kind of housing stop on the frame on your current setup or else you wouldn't be able to shift properly. So on your new setup, without some kind of housing stop, you wouldn't be able to shift anything. The housing provides something to pull the cable against.

So it seems like running the shift housing the way you have it currently is the way to go, unless you're able to fit the housing all the way through to the derailleurs. The last generation of mechanical Shimano FDs have housing stops built-in (installation doc), so if you're able to get the housing all the way through, I would.
