Hello,

my name is Dennis and I've been a silent reader of this forum for quite some time. I wanted to share my gravel equipped with the wheelset without titanium spokes.
I always liked the ZIPP XPLR because of their internalrim width, but I preferred having hooked rims.

I'm currently running Speedero 44 on the rear, which measures 47mm on these rims. Up front I used a Thundero 44, which also measured 47mm. Unfortunately, after about 200km, I had to replace it due to a 1,5cm cut. I switched to a caracal race 45, which measures 50mm.

Over the last 1,5 weeks, I've ridden around 800km with thes wheelset, and I'm absolutely happy with them. The freehub is pleasantly loud (52T), and setting up tubeless was even easier than on my previous rims with a 27mm iw. The wheelset weighs by the way 1,371g.

The order experience was excellent as well. Peter always replied to my questions in a friendly and timely manner, and you really feel like a valued premium customer.

My wheels are on the way to me :)

I ordered the titanium spoked set, without spoke holes, no paint.

Is it just me? I can't select any options on any wheelset on the XMCS website in ant browser.

Hah, I also noticed that at a time, tried again, and disabled uBlock Origin (ad-Block addon), and now I can select stuff. The shop's Javascript was blocked by the Ad-Blocker.

Late to the party. I've been running these wheels paired with Vittoria Corsa Pro Control 38c for the past two months. The tires stretch to exactly 40mm at the rim.

The wheels are fantastic. Out on the road there really isn't any discernible difference (at speed) compared to a traditional road bike. Nothing that would make or break getting dropped from a fast group ride. But you have the ability to literally plow over bad pavement without a second thought.

What you lose marginally in both acceleration and punchy false flats, you gain significantly in rolling resistance and overall ride comfort.

Thats very nice!

I went with c xrays on the same wheelset. They are on their way so review to follow. Loved my old 28mm corsa's so may try these or the GP500 in 35mm

Funny I have a set of Corsa Pros in 28c that have sat in storage for almost four years. And after only about 30 miles of use. They were comfortable but never actually felt "fast." And they felt sloppy when cornering in crits. I hated them so much that I immediately went back to GP5000s.

These Corsa Pro Controls are super comfy, I can't deny that. But I still have to PTSD from my original Corsa Pros. If Continental ever make a 38 or 40c GP5000 STR I am immediately jumping ship!

The 35mm GP5000 S TR will fit same as Goodyear Vectir R XPLR, looking at BRR measurement, the GP5000 has even wider thread and is taller :-D So no need to wait for 40mm.

I'm gonna experiment with different tires, as I do think there are still some margins to be gained over my Corsa Pro Controls.

Michelin Pro 5 in 40c come to mind specifically.
