Voicevelo ECHO & TooT M3

Holy mother of dragons, that's a vile looking setup! Kudos for trying to find an aero fit though. Do you mind listing your measurements and how you picked the equipment? The bike looks awful but your position on the bike looks pretty normal, so it would be useful to know more.
Have you tried descending with it? Do you use it only on the flat?

I'm 182 cm tall, with long legs, and I ride a size 56 frame. I have a 110 mm +6° stem, and the rest of the reach comes from the handlebar itself. 😄

I literally live in the mountains, at around 800 metres above sea level. So yes, I've already done some mountain descents with the M3, and the control is simply excellent, especially when riding in the drops.

Actually, even the top position on this handlebar feels much more stable and gives me better control than, for example, my previous 340 mm BikeDoc handlebar.

For example, in this activity I was descending a fairly easy mountain road, but I'm confident that I could handle a proper winding mountain road with the M3 very well too:

Has anybody managed to model a Garmin Radar holder for the seatpost?

I'm curious to see what this frame would look like with one of the new riser bars installed. Made this quick dirty mockup to give myself a visual. I don't hate it  :-X

Hi everyone, a quick update from Italy.
Today I won a circuit race with this beautiful machine. I attacked with about 800 meters to go and managed to hold off the group until the finish.

I’m really happy with this bike — especially the handlebar, the stiffness is really impressive. In fact, I’m ordering another one to mount on my other bike.

And with deep-section wheels, it also looks absolutely stunning.

Very nice, congratulations!

So, it’s an XL/56 frame with a saddle height (center of bottom bracket to seat) of 77 cm.

May I ask for the measurement of the exposed seatpost—specifically from the underside of the saddle rails to the top of the seat tube (see the yellow line in the photo)?

Feel free to send a PM if you prefer, but I’d like to know the details of the wheels (weight, internal rim width, and external width).

Finally, if it’s not too much trouble, could you post a photo of the seatpost clamp taken from above?

Thanks a lot, and congratulations again on the bike... it’s truly impressive, even in the time-trial setup!

Are there other versions of the seatpost (with a different offset and/or without the "hole")?

Hi, sorry! That photo is from the Velo catalogue, so it’s not my bike. I don’t know the measurements you asked about or what wheels they are. I think the wheels are just a render with a made-up brand name. At least, I don’t know that brand.

I’ve attached a photo of the seatpost clamp taken apart. It may look damaged, but that’s just grease. The clamp is not damaged.

Unfortunately, I had a big problem with noise from the seatpost. There was no noise at first, but after a few months, when the weather got warmer, it became very annoying. I tried cleaning everything and using carbon paste, but it didn’t help. Chris kindly sent me a modified seatpost from China for free, but that didn’t solve the problem either.

I rode for months with this noise. It was clearly caused by very small sideways movements of the seatpost inside the frame. This can happen with Western brands too. Even a very small gap can cause it. It became so annoying that I was almost ready to send the frame back or find another solution with Chris.

In the end, a mechanic solved it with threadlocker on the clamp and an extra layer of epoxy resin. I’m not sure exactly what resin he used. He told me it was a product used to make shower trays less slippery.

This almost completely solved the problem. Now I only hear some noise during races, when I push very hard, for example when accelerating while seated. That puts a lot of twisting force on the seatpost. I haven’t read about anyone else having this problem, so I think I was just unlucky. The main thing is that it’s almost completely solved now.

The other thing I’ve had some trouble with is also one of the things I like most: the handlebar is really stiff. It’s excellent in that respect. When you try another bike with a slightly wider and more flexible handlebar, it feels like it’s made of paper.

But bumps and vibrations are hard on my wrists, also because of the unusual shape of the handlebar. I ride this bike every day, and the wrist pain has become a problem. I can manage it, but it can be quite painful. I think a stem 1 cm shorter would let me hold the hoods more comfortably and would probably help.

Overall, I really like the bike and I’m happy I bought it.

I've had a similar experience with noise issues from the seat post.
Cleaning and reapplying carbon past only helped to a point but the noise inevitably comes back not too long after.

Do you mean with this bike model or with other bikes?

The mechanic who fixed mine told me that, in his experience, carbon paste often doesn’t work with these newer aero seatpost shapes. He said he needed to add a layer of epoxy resin to make the seatpost slightly thicker.

Chris had already tried something similar. The replacement seatpost he sent me had a rough coating instead of a smooth surface. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough. I think the mechanic added another coat of this special resin, which he said is used to make shower trays less slippery. That solved the problem.

I don’t hear any noise when training on the indoor trainer. As I said, it only happens for a few seconds during races, for example when coming out of a corner and pushing over 500 watts. In those moments, I can still hear that very annoying noise, but I would say we’ve pretty much solved the problem.

As I said, even a tiny gap between the seatpost and the frame can cause noise with carbon parts. Unfortunately, this also happens with Western brands that cost thousands of euros more.
