XCADEY VENTUS Carbon Cranks + PM

Quick report about the Xcadey crankset and PM. The cranks feel stiff and strong, no complaints about construction. They also look cool with the 3k matte carbon finish.On a side note, the Stone chainrings I'm using shift great. No adjustment needed switching from Shimano chainrings, highly recommended.

Though my Xcadey power readings seem slightly different from my Magene PM. I need to check and make sure everything is accurate.

Thinking of getting these for a new 1x gravel setup with GRX or Deore XT di2 cassette, chain and rear derailleur.
Any suggestion to which 40t chainring to get? Preferably from Aliexpress as well...

Pass Quest or Stone chainrings are excellent quality and well made. Though for best price, I've been totally fine with cheap 1x Deckas chainrings.

I recently bought xcadey PM and imo it's crap. Magene is level above.

I can't speak for anyone else, but my power output does seem a bit lower than my Magene PM readings. I did switch to 165mm so I'm not sure if crank length has affected my power.

Readings don't match my wahoo kickr no matter what. If I adjust it to be same at 200w then it over reads at 300w and so on. Also battery life is super poor in my unit. 10h of riding and battery at 70%

Ordered my cranks three days ago; they arrived at my agent yesterday and they just sent me these photos. Gotta love the speed of Chinese shipping. I won't be able to install these until early December but I'm looking forward to it (hopefully they don't suck!).

The readings of my xcadey PM is always slightly higher than that of my kickr v5. But that's okay, because due to losses in the drivetrain, the measured power at the rear axle should also be slightly lower than at the crank. For me, there is a difference of approx. + 1 to 1.5% between the crank PM and the Kickr. The measurement also corresponds well with the measurement of my Magene PES P505.

Just received the set. So far update firmware and planning to install on the bike this weekend.
Anyone know what tool to use to unscrew the end caps on the crank?

I installed a GEN 2 spider today (Ventus cranks 170mm). Updated to firmware 41. I did a few short sharp efforts to 'bed it in'. First sprint >1000W indoors resulted in an immediate offset shift on the XCadey where it then reported 40W low (interesting to see the meter read 0W while the Assioma PRO RS and NEO 3M was reading ~40W). Zeroing the XCadey resulted in it reading a little lower than the PRO RS & NEO 3M. Not to worry, another sprint and it was reading higher than them both... which I needed to manually zero out...again... I was able to replace this a few more times.

Within their app it reports real time offset. I was able to use this to know if the meter was going to over-read or under-read. It'd bounce back to 0 when performing an offset with their app or from the bike computer.

I'll take it outdoors tomorrow and perform the same tests.

It sure looks like a lot of zeroing and offsetting, and adjusting to get it working. Point is, does this calibration process stick, or is it every time you need to adjust a thousand things to get it right?

Also, I remember someone pointing out that you were testing the ArcRayo spider PM, now this one. And by the amount of topics here with new Chinese power meters, it looks like (if you’re testing them all) you’re probably busy for the rest of the year

Did anyone experience problems with axle diameter? Mine seems to be a hair over 24mm, resulting in issues with a Bikone BB that uses aluminium inserts. Took everything apart today to investigate a creak and really struggled ro get the drive-side insert off the damn axle. Inserts are fine with both a Shimano and a Scenix crank I have here, so the problem is with the axle of this PM. I‘m going to try a Chris King BB I have on another bike, that‘s using plastic inserts that may be a little more forgiving.

Also, that preload ring is just plastic and utter garbage, therefore.
