ThinkRider Travel Bag

Hi,

does any of you have the ThinkRider Travel Bag? It's very similar to the Scicon Aerocomfort Bag. I'm wondering how much of a difference is there in terms of quality and level o protection?

Why would you even take a chance on this when you can get proven quality from manufacturers such as Scicon for pretty much the same? They are 50% offers all the time. Or look at used market.

What a pointless argument that is — you could say the same thing about almost anything. Why buy Chinese wheels when you can get proven quality from DT Swiss or Zipp?

In reality, there’s almost a 50% price gap here. The Aerocomfort 3.0 is currently around €550 (-10%), which is about the lowest I’ve seen it lately, while the ThinkRider with coupons comes in at ~€260. That’s a significant difference.

I’m not saying I’ll jump on it right away, but I’m curious about the quality and what the actual differences are. Maybe they just copied Scicon, maybe they even improved on some aspects — who knows, it could be a solid option at a much lower price.

Thats to you. To me the prices are nearly identical and the AE case doesnt even ship here.
And to be honest I would NOT travel with a soft side case no matter the brand. I would be much more inclined with a simple bike shop box OR this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006827349352.html

Hi,
This is an exciting discussion, and I've also done some research. I also find the ThinkRider exciting, especially the price and free shipping—but like the previous speakers, I want to transport my bike safely and would go with something I trust.

I think I've found out that Nooyah makes the same bags as Canyon and Scicon (maybe the OEM?!)—for me, at least, that's currently the most exciting china option

Looks like the Canyon https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Bike-Travel-Bag-Bicycle-Travel-Case_1600526679398.html?spm=a2700.details.you_may_like.4.3e951c2acQJIfp

the Nooyah brand has some good options. I went to China last year and brought a bike back to Brazil inside a Nooyah BK008 model
very good quality, especially for the price (I paid a bit over USD100), the fabric is thick so my impression is that it was going to be durable, and it came with wheel bags, a kind of 'block' to protect the bottombracket and chainring.. very protected
I ended up selling it right after being back (and made some profit hehe), I really only bought it for the travel back, since the trip was long and with a number of layovers, without the bike bag with wheels and all, I wouldn't be able to make it lol
