gplama reports that this one is crap too. Likely shares hardware with the Thinkrider PP5 - the firmware numbers are the same (and updates were released at the same time, again to the same firmware version), and the issues are the same. Another one to avoid.

Looking at the issues with CooSpo and the restrictions in some regions, in my opinion, the Magene https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005004540845201.html remains the only real solid alternative to the Garmin Varia right now.

It’s widely available, the radar detection is almost on par with Garmin, and it actually allows for a lot of customization via the app (brake light settings, patterns, etc.) which is where CooSpo seems to struggle. Plus, it's significantly cheaper than a Varia RTL515 without feeling like a 'beta-test' product.

Has anyone here compared the L508 side-by-side with the new CooSpo radar in terms of false negatives?

Only solid alternative to Garmin varia is igpsport Sr mini. I have both magene and igpsport and Sr mini is way better

It's chinertown so I wrote about Chinese options. I'm sure if he tests igpsport Sr mini he will like it. It's better then magene, and magene wasn't that bad in his tests.

unconditional agree -
Magene: 2-5 false positives per hour, about 100m-120m effective distance
iGPSports sr-mini: i can only remember 5 total false positives or so (tunnel, metal-bridge), range is beyond display range of Wahoo Elemnt bolt v2 - means, the dot of the car is not visible on first detection.

As they are priced the same, IMO iGPSport SR-Mini clears the floor with Magene, as it is better looking IMO, lighter, better detection range, FAR FAR few false positives.
only downside, compared to gplamas reviews of Varia radar i guess is the stationary detection, like a car, bike is hovering behind you, sr-mini will clear it, as every other radar besides the Varia Vue.

According to my contact at Coospo, that is only a slight optical variant for chinese market of the S10 and uses same internal PM. There will be a new release that is not announced yet.
According to my latest info, the data problems on this model is also partially due to the Easton interface + this particular model, so they might switch 8b or Shimano in the future.
Also testing the S10 with carbon crankset at the moment against the Assioma Duo. The newest firmware version is 1.8.5 on Coospo Tools, doing a update is very much required, because my first ride on stock 1.3.0 was ... all over the place.
