Rpantahi Carbon 3D printed Bike saddle - Bjorn Setka knockoff

Does anyone have this saddle or seen it in person? I couldn't find any details in the forum using the search feature. Basically a Bjorn Setka knockoff that doesn't cost $420

I ran into a buddy of mine on the road last night who uses this saddle. He commutes by bike around 400 miles a week. Says he loves it. I'm very tempted...

I used it during my recent biketour in Asia and it did hold up well. Even had a large saddlebag attached to the carbon rails without any issues.

It was the Eva padding one though, can't speak for the 3d padding.

Can't seem to find the EVA version, as I'd probably prefer that over the 3D version. Cheap 3D printed saddles aren't very durable beyond a year of frequent use. The padding breaks down quickly. I've had two 3D printed S-Work power saddle clones from Bugaloe break down after 3000 miles each.

I have both the original Bjorn Setka AND the following copy from Ali on my backup bike. Sufficeth to say, they are very similar.  I can tell that the Ali saddle is a copy-cat, but for the value, it's been an awesome find!

I have that same Wildside saddle, and I've been riding it for about 6 months now (typically 10-12 hours per week). You can feel the difference in density in different areas of the saddle when you push on it with your hand, but honestly I don't think it makes a difference when riding. The shape really works for me and the weight is good, so I haven't had a reason to try anything different or go back to any of my old saddles (Selle Italia SLR Superflow was my favorite of the well-known brands).

The carbon base looks good to me and I have no fear that it will ever break. I can't really comment on the 3D-printed cover, because this is the only 3D printed saddle I've ever owned. I have no complaints about it compared to a traditional saddle, but I haven't been blown away with it and I don't think of it as a game changer, either. Maybe a $300+ saddle would change my mind?

I recently got this Kore-branded Bjorn copy and I'm quite happy with it. It was 123g on my scale. The padding is quite similiar to the ElitaOne SLR copy and the shell has some flex, adding comfort. It is very wide at the rear though which might not be for everyone.

I'm always curious why saddle brands on Alix tend to lean so heavily on 7x9 carbon rails.

This can cause issues since not everyone has frames to accommodate 7x9. And I've notice the range of fore/aft on the rails of these saddles are much shorter than their western brand counterparts.

I'm not sure the Chinese even understand the markings on the rails are considered as a safety feature showing constructual limits. I mean they believe the 3-d padding is for ventilation...

Anyway I happily ignored those limits on western or chinese saddles all my life without issues. I greatly prefer clamping from top and bottom using 2 screws though.

Berk for example has offered round carbon rails but were cracking, that's why we have oval ones, to prevent/reduce that. I would be interested who is not offering oval rail compatibility nowadays

My one-year anniversary on the Rpantahi (155mm version) is coming up, and I bought the Wildside one for another bike a few months ago - I am generally happy with both. As someone who moves around on the saddle a lot, I like the wider base combined with the narrow taper.

In terms of comfort I actually prefer the Ryet Aircode, which is less dense / less firm compared to the first two (I clock in at 83 kg). The honeycomb on my Aircode started disintigrating pretty quickly though, hence the need for a replacement; we'll see how long the new ones last.

Rpantahi (x155 3D) vs. Wildside (x155 3D):

• overall very similar shape
• Rpantahi has uniform padding throughout while Wildside has a firmer base with a softer center and nose
• Rpantahi has a slightly more pronounced swoop/kick at the back
• the nose on the Wildside is marginally narrower than the Rpantahi, as is the cut-out
• just as a price reference, I bought the Rpantahi for around USD70 and the Wildside for USD56
