Spcycle New Mold SP-R066 Carbon Road Frame

I've ordered this frame (XXL, glossy white, 400x110mm handlebar - I'm 185cm tall and 89kg weight - size was confirmed with my bikefitter) from sp-cycle.com official website.

It will be my 1st build, I've already gathered some tools (to handle inner routing cables, etc.).

I want to use Sram Force E1 Road (using Favero Assiomas PRO RS-2 as power meter) - maybe it is too much, but Canyon Aeroad was too expensive for me (which looks really cool for me) and I do not like stickers on frame so this frameset was a perfect match for me and I have Sram AXS system on my current gravel so I have all required tools, chargers, batteries, etc.

BB - T47 86.5mm, I'll go with: https://www.tokenproducts.com/bottom-brackets/threaded/bb47v29 (it should perfectly fit with Sram Force E1 crankset, but I need to apply proper spacer based on BB manuals, not Sram which are for 85.5mm BB https://www.sram.com/globalassets/document-hierarchy/compatibility-map/road/dub-choose-a-road-bottom-bracket-compatibility-map.pdf, right?).

Saddle: using currently Bontrager Aeolus Comp 250x145mm (3 years and it is perfect fit, but wanted to try something else, maybe Ryet?)

Wheels: EliteWheels Edge 50mm + GP 5000 32mm

I have frame and almost all parts ready (90%), but need time to build it

Painting is not perfect, but not bad as well.

For this money - it will be nice Aeroad clone

Hi guys,

I'm really sorry for late response and I feel really bad (wanted to start this season with new bike, but... life is life). A lot of happened and I could not finish it.

It is not finished yet, but wanted to show you and tell you what pros and cons.

What I used:
- Sram Force E1 2x12 (160mm front, 140mm back)
- Sp-cycle R066
- Token BB47V29 + Token chain catcher
- Elitewheels Edge 50mm + Continental GP5000 32mm
- Ryet X9 (clone of Bontrager Aeolus Comp 145mm)

Pros:
- I wanted to have white Canyon Aeroad but price killed me (and had my own wheels and wanted to have Sram Force E1 on board); wanted to have it without stickers as well, so really happy on overall look
- bike feels really stiff and fast
- no issue with bumpy handlebar (like GCN had)
- no gap between frame and handlebar (shown on photo)
- price!

Cons:
- some "unfinished" paint places, like on the opposite side of the front axle (photo)
- inlets for hydraulic hose are not top notch (photos)
- T47 had to be re-threaded -
- needed to plane front bike mount (too much paint)
- planed back flat mount as well (did not have to, but LBS done it xd)
- there is something sharp in handlebar on left side (front level) inside (some carbon leftover) which damaged a bit hydraulic hose (checked with inspection camera)
- used carbon paste for saddle mount, but even with 8Nm it it loose :/
- front derailleur mount is... I need to put some washers between insert and FD mount (photo)

I hope to finish it (had to adjust shifters & shorten chain, bleed brakes, adjust hoods and saddle) ASAP and finally ride!

Yeah... I wanted to built it on my own, but so many problems I did not realize could be possible
If I had to choose today: to buy Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 7 AXS "full price" (even on Rival AXS) vs replica "half price of original" (Sram Force E1) I'd choose Canyon.

I'm not saying Canyon is fully perfect (my 1st bike was Canyon Grizl CF SL 6 AXS) and I had issues with saddle mount, plastic stem top cap, but customer service did their job.
At least Canyon has no this small "finish" paint issues (I know it has 0 performance impact), but you can return Canyon and get full money back

I hope there will be no issues further

Front derailleur issue is only a paint problem ?

I had a frame back in the days where the front derailleur did a deformation in the carbon (like compressed inward) that cause my front derailleur to not shift on biggest chainring 😖

I've just torqued it to the 4Nm (as it says) and it sits tight... Need to test during the ride Yeah, just bad paint and imho inserts are mounted too deep, but I'm not bike engineer!

I'm after 1st ride.

I do not care about small paint chips, some imperfections - whole ride was really stiff, responsive and fast. No issues at all.
I see that one of the hydraulic cable is damaged, but it should be good in the long run - will replace it eventually in the future, but for now it's good.

No problems with saddle or anything - all it stiff and firm.

Sram Force is perfect.

Would I buy it again?
Well, hard to answer. It is worth its money - it is not perfect, but almost 3x times cheaper than e.g. Canyon.
