Pirelli Pzero Race TLR RS

Has anyone used the 30mm version of these tires and did you have any difficulty mounting them to your wheels? If so(or not) what wheels are you running them on?

I cannot get these mounted without a hand clamp holding the bead in place and two tire levers. I have used every trick I can find on the internet and beyond to mount these. Ive gotten them on but am curious if its my wheel thats making it difficult....?

I've got the 32mm version on Tagoola Aeroraptor wheels (23.5mm internal). It was mildly difficult, I'd say maybe a 6/10, but that's from someone with pretty pissweak thumbs. Getting the first side on was probably the hardest part.

I tried fitting them on a pair of Roval Rapide CL II. Had to give up, and sent the tires back. GP5000 felt like a walk in the park after.
Commute: Spcycle G068
Road: Canyon Endurace CF8 + Spcycle R088

It’s difficult but not impossible. Use the blue Schwalbe tyre levers (bundle of 3). The first side should be relatively easy. On the opposite side clamp two of these into the rim and use the third one to get the tyre on the rim. You have to go step by step. I already mounted two pairs (30 & 32 mm) on the XMC rims.

I mounted mine to a pair of XMCS wheels. It was a massive pain and required a lot of force with tyre levers and the help of a friend.

OK, so Im glad Im not the only one. My dislike with these tires is I have to run them tubeless bc I wouldnt be able to change a tube with just tire levers. Just getting the first side on requires tire levers.

Mounted them with bare hands on Elite Edges.

I have them on my 9velo and another on cheap Superteam. Zero issues with both. Running TPUs.

I know two friends who had these, very hard to get them off, and almost impossible to get back on. Ended up going to LBS.
If you ever need to remove mid-ride, not going to happen.

I have them mounted on the new CD Wide wheels 24int 30ext and they are damn near impossible without multiple tools to mount.

Hahaha, yeah, I was also crying when mounting mine (30mm version) to carbon 21/28 wheelset… I managed to do it with metal levers in the end.
I also stopped carrying a spare TPU tube with me. No point, there is zero chance I will be able to mount them on the roadside with light plastic tire lever I usually carry. Just dynaplugs and pump…

I bought two TyreGliders — one for my garage toolkit and one for my EDR kit (everyday ride).

They’re great tools. Since using them, I haven’t struggled with mounting or removing tires at all.
