Recent Hambini Youtube videos (biased?)
« on: September 25, 2025, 06:18:46 PM »
Has anyone else felt weird about Hambini's recent youtube videos? I've noticed him giving raving reviews of products while dodging questions on whether he gets the products for free or is buying them anonymously. When people in the comments ask questions he just answers with weird immature deflections (cleverly on brand for him but very annoying to me). Just curious if anyone else has felt this way or if it's just me.

He's mostly very positive about new wheelsets coming out of Xiamen. He gets them sent for free most of he time. Other people's impressions of the wheels he reviews seem to line up with his, and he posts in depth write ups with figures and specifics on his website. I think he's being honest. Quality wheels are all over the place now.

Iirc he paid for a high grade lightcarbon frame and gave it a great review. However, he ordered that one in person so they definitely knew who he was. I think he recently ordered a frameset from Peter and implied he ordered with his real name. I'm curious what he'll say.

TLDR; He seems to almost always get his products sent for free, or he orders them with his real name. So, almost all of them are potential Hambini specials

In real life he’s a genuine guy, but his YT a persona is basically a character in the same way Jeremy Clarkson had a character on Top Gear.

If you like that character, it’s up to the individual. I think it’s a waste of his talent which could be vastly more valuable to everyone if he stopped acting up.
