Chinese carbon frameset VS Cube agree SLT

Hi guys,

At first I wanted to buy one of the chinese framesets popular on this forum, but now I have a possibility to buy brand new 2026 Cube Agree SLT frameset for 1200 EUR, through a cycling club.

What would you guys do in this situation?

Does anyone have any experience with clone framesets from aliexpress? (Something like this https://a.aliexpress.com/_EzXESY8)

Assuming the Cube fits you and is a geometry you like, I'd get the Cube.

If the Cube fits you, get the Cube. If you want a fake, please inform yourself here, like in the Factor Fake Thread to at least get a fake from a more "reliable" seller.

I've never had a road bike (I've ridden my brothers Merida Scultura M - too small since I'm 190 cm) before and I kind of don't want to spend 1200 EUR on a frame without knowing what fits me well.

I'd much rather spend 550 EUR on Spcycle R065 or something similar to test and if I don't like it just sell it locally for a couple of hundred euros or leave in the garage gathering dust.

Also another turn off from Cube Agree is geometry, since I'm looking for something more "AERO", because I need my bike for an ironman.

But again I don't want to buy a TT frame or something very aggressive like Velobuild VB-R-368, because where I live there aren't many flats.

The better side of Cube is that is very good looking and easier to resell than a chinese frameset.

In your situation I would first continue to try and find bikes to test ride before I buy anything because lord knows what geometry fits you. Bike geometry refers to the bike frame's tube measurements and angles between tubes, when people say geometry they don't refer to buzzwords like 'aero' or 'climbing' but rather the likes of 'endurance' (shorter and taller) and 'race' (longer and lower), there are aero endurance bikes and non aero race bikes .
Ask in that cycling club if you could test ride bikes size 58-62 as a starting point or maybe go to a bike shop to test ride something and see how the geometry of whatever you just tested stacks up against the cube or whatever else you're looking at. The site geometrygeeks.bike lets compare frame geometries, a bike's geometry is also not set in stone because you can always alter it through changing stems, spacers. I definitely would not buy that cube blindly without testing.
For big brand fakes like that pinarello you linked its generally speaking not advised to buy these because very often they are lower quality and its morally questionable. If you do want to go that route there are threads on that topic, don't buy blindly it's risky.

get the cube. the frame is pretty aero, and has relaxed geometry: very good for an ironman for someone tall like you, you should be able to install aero extensions and get comfortable (expect a long process, fitting aero extensions that fit you, on a road bike).
The aliexpress link you mentioned is trash, and happens to be in violation of a multitude of laws, too.
as of "good fakes", the "best" shop recently shipped someone on here a frame so badly out of spec that it belongs in the bin and can't be ridden.

what serge says, if the geometry of the cube is fitting for you take it.
Regarding fakes, I wouldn't recommend fakes to anyone new in cycling! You'll end up having troubles setting up the bike!
