I grabbed this unit during the 11.11 sale for 198$ along with ztto all steel cassette 11-42T. Both delivered quickly, install was a breeze.
This is my first home trainer so I am lacking some valid reference, take my comments with a grain of salt! I paired it with Mywhoosh app (I am cheap all the way). The unit is stable and compact, was packaged very well and easy to put together and start using.
I have completed 6 1h rides so far and started an 8 weeks training program with daily ride (although I replace one of these by a 3h ride outside).
I like the convenience of the trainer, easy to find an hour early in the morning or after the kids go to bed in the evening. Works great with my whoosh on the iPhone but my surface pro 7 doesn’t have the guts to run the app (so I am mirroring the iPhone on it to have a big enough display).
The power numbers match the PES 515 power meter I have on the bike.
The only negative I identified so far is when pushing power (for me at least) in simulated gradient, resistance no longer feel linear and the unit gets loud around 200-250W.

Would I recommend? At that price I am not sure there are alternatives close to these specs, so yes. For sure it now has me curious about the experience on higher end models.

I got a Thinkrider XX Pro. It's my first trainer and so far am happy with pretty similar experiences as you but also no pre-knowledge.

Now I'm also looking forward to more first hand experience on Cycplus R200 because am looking to buy for family or friends.
Both are about same price when on offer - but the thing is they are only available from time to time here in Europe.

They should be pretty identical.

Just loaned the unit to a friend and he confirms it gets pretty loud when putting down some watts.
I wonder if I have a defective unit.

Mine is also a bit noisy when doing more watts, but nothing too crazy imo.

You can buy a Cycplus BT2 clicker, which adjust the resistance, so it’s a workaround for virtual shifting.

After a few weeks of use, i am a fan. A friend also borrowed it and compared to his brand new wahoo, and he ended up questionning why he paid more.
I have done about 10-12 more sessions of a training plan, I really like it. I did a couple of freeride, didnt enjoy as much, living in houston we can bike all year round outside I find that a much better alternative.

Pretty curious about their T3 (and whether it's actually different than the much cheaper Thinkrider XXPro). Also somewhat curious about the T7 smart bike on their site, though what I would really like to see is a T7 with the T3 resistance unit.

2 months and 1000km later, I am super happy with that purchase. It does exactly what I was expecting, no drama so far. Satisfied with MyWhoosh too, no issue using the app on phone, I’ll get an iPad so I can read the damn messages during training sessions but that’s about it. I have been pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy the training sessions actually.
I have been doing 3-4 1h ride a week, and being in Houston I can ride outside pretty much all year for the weekly 3h Z2 session. The trainer provide great flexibility and for sure I get more saddle time during the week thanks to it, usually riding between 5-6am before going on about my day.

I have a Kickr Core 2, and I also use MyWhoosh. I can't imagine paying $20/mo to use Zwift or Rouvy instead. MyWhoosh is such good value (literally free).

Which Zwift Cog do I order to fit the Cycplus? Or does it really matter?
