46-30 crankset for r7100

I have a second endurance bike that i intend to use for gravel. Gearing is 50-34 with 11-36 casette. However i want to use lighter gearing. First thought was to use 2x grx cranks but i cant find any in stock with 165mm cranks.

I found this on Ali, would that work with r7100 considering it has a 43.5 chainline?

That spindle length does appear to be very short. Another option is the Stone 46/32 chainring which uses 110bcd so you can use your existing r7100 cranks. Similar price to a full grx crankset so it's not cheap. You might be better off searching Facebook marketplace.

I wouldn't worry about spindle length - I have this installed on a road bike with a regular road bottom bracket and everything works fine. Regarding the chainline, my thought is that 43.5mm is closer to the R7100 chainline (44.5mm) than GRX (47mm); if needed, you can add a 1mm shim.

I run  a 43.5mm chainline FSA crankset with the 105Di2.. this works perfectly, with one little glitch: when i go to the small chainring and the largest gear (the 11T) on the cassette (shouldn't be used i know) then the chain rubs on the little pins of the large chainring. So that's a clear reminder to change the gear then 

However....i cannot draw any conclusions if this can work on every frame and also with the mechanic 105. I would guess... but no guarantees.

I just picked up this crankset and if my BBR60 gets delivered tomorrow, I will install it with an Ultegra 6800 RD and can report back. Not sure if the chain line is any different between 6800 and 7100.

Can you tell us the actual measured spindle length please. The advertised spindle length of 88mm is too short even for road bike standards and I suspect this wrong. Otherwise there is no way you can fit this on a BB86 frame (86.5mm + 2mm + 2mm) let alone any crank spacers.

I swapped out a R7000 11 speed for the Scenix 46/30 without any issues.
Did have to add a small adapter to lower the front derailleur though.

I've been trying to set up my Senicx 46/30 with my Ultegra 6800 FD, and unfortunately it seems like I just can't get the FD to adjust outward enough to reach the outer chainring.

edit: JK I'm really dumb and didn't fit the crankset all the way through.
