Hello everyone!
Since I recently had some trouble installing this handlebar, I wanted to make a post to explain how I solved the issue.
Hopefully, if someone runs into the same problem, they’ll find this guide useful.
The handlebar I bought is the Lexon Thin Line
https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005006430373452.html and is installed on a Spcycle R088
The issue I encountered was some play in the headset—specifically on the top ring—because I was using a metal C-ring.
I fixed it simply by installing a plastic C-ring instead. That way, I managed to eliminate any lateral movement or play under braking at the upper part of the headset.
So, I wanted to clarify that: make sure you have all the necessary tools on hand, and especially leave the hydraulic brake hoses (in my case, I’m using a Shimano Di2) a bit longer. That way, if you have any issues, you can always loosen them and adjust the headset stack more easily.
These are the torque values I used:
•
Expander plug: 7 Nm
•
Top cap: 3 Nm
•
Handlebar bolts: 4 Nm
Make sure to tighten everything gradually and evenly, especially the handlebar bolts, and always double-check that there is no play in the headset after tightening. Correct torque makes a big difference in terms of safety, durability, and overall riding feel.
