Garbaruk type crank on Ali - anyone tried it?

I'd not trust the real glued aluminium crankset, let alone an 'homage'.

GMBN built an aliexpress bike with an ActoFive crank. very similar construction to the garburuk, machined half shell arms keyed and bonded in. obviously for proper key and bond you need machining to decent tolerances, and the actofives split halfway up a welsh mountain.
they look pretty, but I'd not trust them.

I've seen somewhere on Instagram someone bought one of these Garbaruk knockoffs, when he stood on the pedal the crank started flexing, and when he stomped harder it broke. Garbaruk responded with similar video with their original crankset under load, no flexing noticeable. Just avoid fake products, they're almost never good. I bought a Zrace RX crankset for half of that price (without chainring), and it's pretty decent.

I have the ZRace RX crankset on both my gravel bikes. They're not bad since I originally bought them as part of my Magene power meter package. Though I feel they work better as 1x cranks due to the somewhat long DUB axle. Also I found using the wave washers to be useful to keep the crankset properly torqued in-place. Also I prefer using a 3 bolt chainring adapter (110bcd, 104bcd, etc.) or power meter with the crankset, if you're not careful the screw threads can strip. Best to swap chainrings off the adapter instead of using 3 bolt chainrings.

I'm aware of that, but it doesn't say "Rotor", nor it's some no-name product, but instead the manufacturer put their own brand on this crankset. There's a big difference when some Chinese company makes a product "inspired" by someone's design but puts their own logo on it, or just tries to imitate another brand. These cranksets are great examples of a good knockoff and bad counterfeit. Brands like Zrace don't want to be associated with crap products, so they put some effort into proper manufacturing and QC. But if it's not your brand, your reputation wouldn't get harmed, so why care about quality? People will always buy fakes, hoping they'll get similar quality as original for a fraction of price (or just assuming they're buying the real thing), so you can lower the production costs to absolute minimum and even cut QC completely, it's still gona sell. That's why I would never trust a fake of unknown origin, especially part like crankset which could cause you some serious injury if it fails.
