XMCS: 2026 Aero Gravel bike

So I ended up with two new gravel frames due delays in arrival - the new XMCS GRT and new Winspace G5.  Need to sell one - whichever one does not sell, I'll keep and build up.  Selling for what I paid.

XMCS GRT - Medium (54cm), Raw Carbon finish. $1700.
Winspace G5 - Medium (54cm), Raw/Black. $2500

"Current frame takes 1x 46T only, we are updating the molds fitting for 1x48T, or 50T (some spacers needed), if you don't take 46T, please wait for updated version.  Updated XL size can be ordered now, updated sizes S/M/L won't be available until October."

Hi, can someone help clarify this? I’ve been looking at the XMCS GRT as a potential frame upgrade, but I’m finding conflicting information about whether it supports 2x, which is a must for me. I tried emailing XMCS, but got no response.

The XMCS Netherlands site says the frame supports 1x and 2x, and photos/videos of the frame clearly show a braze-on front-derailleur hanger.

However, the XMCS .cc site says:

“Current frame takes 1x 46T only, we are updating the molds fitting for 1x48T, or 50T.”

From this thread, I also got the impression that the current version may still be 1x only.

Can anyone with more knowledge clarify whether it actually supports 2x? Ideally I’m interested in Shimano GRX 2x12, specifically 48/31 with a front derailleur.

GRT is 2x as well.

The 1x is stated as that chainring is biger and sits more towards the frame. And bigger sizes (of 1by) currently do not fit).

I have my eyes on it as well. And also want to set it with 2x Di2. But nobody can say the tyre clearance in the rear with Di2 FD. Probably less than 57mm, but not necessary. My Addict Gravel is more limited by chainstays, than with FD cage.

Also, hopoefully someone can also confirms, that frame has a hole for Di2 wire for FD. Funny, Evolve Cima GR is also 2x, but reports say, it has no FD wire hole, so it is only Sram possible.

That also makes me wonder, if GRT Shimano battery goes in the seatpost, or somewhere else.

Just to give you some perspective how 1x chainring clearance can be deceiving, on my 3T Exploro Ultra, with Sram standard spindle I can fit 48/35 in 2x but only 42t with 1x chainring which has 6.5mm offset. The GRX cranks are wider so 2x chainring clearance should not be any problem.

Yes, the Di2 battery goes in the seat post.

Current version GRT can take 48/31T GRX 2x chainrings without any issues. We didn't try any other sizes though.

The confusion is a language thing. ‘Only 1x 46T’ means ‘no larger 1x chain rings than 46T’.

Mind you, my GRT frame (literally first one made) doesn’t have a Di2 battery exit port (the VRT does). That should be fixed in the current frames, but best to re-confirm when ordering the frame.

Evolve Cima GR has a front Di2 cable hole behind the derailleur hanger and a seatpost battery holder. There is even a manual online on the website…

i think i've seen that exact installation instruction from another manufacturer... 😂

doesn't take away from the frame though - Cima is a great riding bike that rubs shoulders well with its inspiration.
