Anyone have experience with Speedplay pedal clones

Mostly wondering how interchangeable the cleats and pedals are with Wahoo items. Standard tension cleats from Wahoo are $60 usd. For about $15 usd more you can get this whole extra pedal set.

I have tried these cleats: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806750147215.html and they seem to work, but they do feel different. About 1/2 the cost of Wahoo cleats so still worth it to me, especially since my last set of Wahoo cleats didn't last a year.

I've been looking at those cleats! Can you share more about how they feel different? Is the float less smooth? Do they clip in less reliably? I would love to save the money, but not sure how much I'd be losing out on.

I have 4 sets of the previous version called the Pave Zero pedals with Titanium spindles.  I've used them for years without issue.

The pedals have been bullet proof, but the cleats are slippery on concrete, and smooth floors, and wear fast if you walk on them.  Since I migrated to gravel bike, I seldom ride my road bikes anymore. I suppose they will last me the rest of my life.

Speedplay cleats have an adjuster for the float, this is controlled by two metal screw/bolts. On the Aliepress cleats, these screws/bolts were plastic and just didn't work, so it was impossible to adjust the cleat float, which is part of the reason I use Speedplays

IMO They are not worth it, the tension is much lower than the original standar tension cleats. Plus, the little metal knob that should be limited by the float screws doesn't work the way that it should.

I'm a "high tension" cleat guy, so take that with a grain of salt if you prefer lower tension cleats.

I installed only one on the left shoe and kept the Wahoo on my right shoe. So I can compare and feel the difference between my left and right foot. I also have another pair of shoes that have Wahoo cleats.

The AliEx cleats clip in fine. I did need to fiddle with the rotation adjustment screws more (which are hex screws instead of phillips, which is better in my opinion), and I feel more "spring back" than I do with the Wahoo cleats. Unclipping to me feels more "mushy?" My right foot and my other shoes feel "crisper" in that they rotate free to the point that the spring engages and then releases. The AliEx one feels like I feel the spring engage and from there to when it releases is more vague. Not sure how else to describe it.

And really while it's noticable to me, it doesn't affect anything at all. I can get in and out just as easily.
