Quick update on my Mondince FM336 order:

The frame finally arrived today 😄🔥

Overall shipping to Germany was pretty fast. Ordered on April 7th and delivered today.

The paint job looks really good at first glance:
Chameleon No.10 with a glossy gradient into black pearl — exactly the kind of look I was hoping for. The color shift in sunlight is amazing.

There was a small mix-up during production because they accidentally painted an L frame first instead of my size S, but they noticed it themselves before shipping and corrected it.

Now it’s time to start the build 😄

Everything went together without any issues. No problems during the assembly and overall I’m really happy with how the FM336 turned out.

Current weight is 8.3 kg without bar tape (still needs to be installed).

Now it’s time for the first test ride 👀

Have two questions for you.

1) Gravel handlebar: Which one have you mount? I am thinking about the Aeroo Gravel
2) Real tyre clearnec in fork: Could you measure how much physical clearance do you have? Since I have read some guys mount something over 47mm Im thinking what to mount over there.

1) I’m using an Ornan HBR16 Aero Road handlebar:

It’s 400mm wide at the hoods and 430mm at the drops. Personally, I don’t like super wide gravel bars, so this setup feels much better for me.

2) Regarding tyre clearance: I’m running wheels with a 32mm internal rim width and the Caracal Race 40mm tyres measure around 45mm on these rims.

I’d say 47–48mm tyres are definitely possible without issues. Much wider than that would probably become difficult in my setup because I’m running 2x and the front derailleur would start to interfere.

Just bought this exact color for my mom. She loves your bike. Out of curiosity, what’s the weight? Doing a similar build. Mix of apex, rival, and force.

What is the FD clearance? Looks tight

It’s roughly around 3–4 mm with my current setup.
For a gravel bike with wide tyres and a 2x setup, that’s actually still totally okay 👍
In dry conditions it works perfectly fine, but around 45 mm is realistically the limit for this setup.

I’m actually considering switching to 35 mm Continental Terra Competition Race tyres.
They only weigh around 350 g and on my 32 mm internal width rims they should probably end up around 40 mm wide once mounted.
The only thing I’m unsure about is whether that’s already a bit too stretched on such a wide rim.

Tagoola states for the XPLR R32-50 rims:
“compatible with 700x36C–64C tires”

Also, there is a user here on the forum already running 36 mm Challenge Strada Bianca tyres on a similar internal width without any problems.

What do you guys think? Would 35 mm still be perfectly fine on a 32 mm internal rim, or already a bit too extreme?

My personal view based on the feedback from the gravel riders in general is that if you can go wider with lower pressure, the better. Of course its more weight and so but thee rest I believe is really personal and the usage you are gonna give to it

I am still asking what is the real maximum tyre size I can fit into it.

Maybe I ask because I am a bit biased from what the manufactures use to spec there. They normally goes some mm lower but not sure if this is the case.
I would really like to fit up to 47-48mm by spec that can end up into 49-50mm.
If this is really not possible, then I would have to go for 45m to end up on 47-48mm

Al this without the frameset here is actually quite difficult to decide. Hope Jack will send the frame by beginning of this week finally
