ZTTO NewULT New Light Weight Cassette From ZTTO
« on: March 30, 2026, 07:31:07 AM »
Hi guys!

I'm starting this thread because I recently saw this NewULT ztto cassette on another forum https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005009362221627.html. I'm honest, I've never heard of it and I've never seen a review on YouTube.

It's not super cheap, but the specs seem excellent. I'm just worried about safety. I hope it's not like the famous ztto cassettes https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005008156880717.htmlthat break every now and then...

Anyone have experience with them?

Seems like to be a full steel one. Probably gonna be noisy and the backside looks dangerously thin, but what do I know. I will stick with my Ultegra cassette.

The old ZTTO all-steel cassette is solid. The alloy spider they used was an improvement on the Spedao design with bigger rivets and thicker spider arms. This new version looks like it went on a super model diet. I'd still give it a try, but some things on AliEx are aimed at the weight weenie crowd as opposed to those looking for durability.

I have new black ULT and old ULT from ZTTO and both are solid. There are quite noisy especially with shimano chains. I did 10k km on the old one and it started creaking so I ordered a new version but when I swapped them it turned out that bolts connecting two clusters got loose so I tightened them and I still use it on my spare bike. On the new ult there are rivets instead of the bolts so will see if it holds up. I had 9-42 ztto xd cassette on my gravel bike and those rivets started creaking after about 6k km

Agree. Best ali cassette by far. The alu one shifts well initially too, but mine developed a hitch at 5-6 after a thousand mi or so. The black steel one is 2x the price but actually lighter and shifts remarkably well.
