Or can you recommend any other suppliers of prescription glasses - I like the idea of the photochromic lenses given most of my rides start in the dark.

I've never wondered if there's a brand for prescription glasses. I saw that West Biking seems to be the only brand selling similar products. Not the best in my opinion, especially this other model: https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005007518986546.html
Maybe I'd prefer to get some from a local optician.

I might give those from west-biking a shot. Expensive but still way cheaper than a local optician.

I've bought some prescription cycling glasses from ali before from one of the bigger glasses stores.
A lot cheaper and they work, but they aren't really good as cycling glasses. But most importantly they are ugly AF

I've been using a set of firmoo glasses for quite a while now, they're mostly using SCVCN/Kapvoe (helpful if you end up breaking one of the sides) frames and put their glasses in: https://www.firmoo.com/sports-glasses.html

There's usually a bunch of active coupon codes that you might wanna play around with to get the best discount, usually one of BF5030/5030/5040/5050 will work (5030 = 50% off the frame, 30% off the glasses and so on).

Are the prescription lens from firmoo a full face lens (like the west bike one above) or is it an insert that sits behind the non prescription lens ?

They're fullface 👍 The lenses are quite thick (depending on prescription, I'd guess), so it's a bit heavier than your usual set - mine comes in at 48g, but doesn't bother me in any way.

okay. I just copied the links and didn't check the prices. At least this offer had a hughmous increase in price.
I orderd 1,67 hyperopia with dicounts for 45$, now at 119$ before discounts.
But you get the idea for an alternative approach.

Hum, I never tried and there doesn't seem to be any play so maybe not removable (without force). The price will depend on what kind of lenses you picked obviously, but (just under) about 130$ looks about right? Seems like FIRMOODAY or JJEAN50 are the best discounts at the .com (they got separate domains and codes for a few countries) site at the moment.

I have been using prescription inserts for over a decade and they have been fine but I want to look for a more integrated/one piece solution as long as it's not too expensive.

Here is my experience with using inserts:
- It can get foggy and it takes time to clear as there are 2 lens and 4 sides.
- Following from the above, you have to remove the insert to clean the lens.
- The insert is usually held onto the nose area with tabs. Constant removal will wear down these tabs and it will not longer clip in.
- The insert is made of cheap plastic and the frame will crack. Probably get about 6-12 months use out of them. I strongly advise to pickup some extra inserts from the seller if you are buying the  complete glasses. It should only cost a few $$.

I've been using this for years, and bought for friends too. It's cheap (35-40 eur), it works. My frame cracked, it's been superglued, still works. Used them extensively.
I did try cycling sunglasses with inserts, but hate both the insert and the sun lens. I sweat like a fat man which means i need to be able to wipe the lens, and you cant do that with an insert.

I am interested in cycling specific ones, so that link is interesting, didn't know it was a thing: www.firmoo.com. I also like the idea of photochromic lenses.

I've had these for a few years https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001124774929.html?.  Contact the seller and he'll tell you which lenses to order separately, then they match the orders and send you complete glass.  They have been brilliant, a few friends have bought the same.  I have them in multi-focal with surprising thin and light lenses.

Way more expensive than the other option, however the full glass frame, without holes was tempting.

Now that they have arrived, I'm really impressed, built quality is top notch and the photo chromic works really well, almost full transition.
The glass transition is really well done. Highly, highly recommend if you have the budget, I paid 193 usd with taxes.
