I am thinking more in terms where to order it from China to get it as cheaply as 1400 Eur.

So my build is almost finished. And so far everything went just fine...but i just cant comprehend how to use this D-shaped epander plug.

When the expander is completely loose, it fits into the steerer tube. However, when I turn the Allen bolt from the top, the two internal wedge pieces don't engage with each other, so the expander doesn't tighten.

When I connect the two wedge pieces beforehand by threading the bolt in just one or two turns, the expander already becomes too wide to fit into the steerer tube.

Outside the fork, the mechanism works perfectly. The threads engage smoothly and the expander tightens as intended.

So essentially, I can't get the threads to engage once the expander is inside the steerer tube, but connecting them beforehand makes the expander too wide to insert.

I've attached a few photos to illustrate the mechanism.

Does someone have an idea how this should work?

I read in the Tavelo Arow Thread (page 13) that there was an answer by tavelo

"The expander requires a specialized installation process, which we will detail in a comprehensive "User Instruction Manual" to facilitate proper installation and disassembly." But of course this cannot be found anywhere.

The expander plug on the Tavelo Arow was a pain too. Anytime I would race on the bike I would always end up with the slightest of headset play afterwards. It wasn't a bearing or spacer issue either.

In theory a D-shaped steer tube offers better hydraulic cable clearance. But I've never had routing issues ever with round tubes.

Hi Members maybe this will help. Attached is the Tavelo Arden build instructions.

She's finally here! I've been without a road bike for a couple months after I cracked my old Winspace, and after a few weeks of window shopping I finally landed on the Arden. Shout out to the other 2 finalists lol (VoiceVelo Echo and an Adapt B02 from Chain Bicycle).
Ordering through SSPADE was not the most pleasant experience, but they did have the best price and I'm just glad it's finally here and ready to be built. Packaging is very nice, I almost feel bad cutting up the box and tossing it in the recycling bin.  ;D  :'(
It arrived with a 380x100 bar instead of the 90mm I wanted, but I'm not sure I want to deal with the exchange and another waiting period. I might keep it...fit should still be okay.

Size 475
Frame: 900g
Bar: 295g
Fork: 408g

I'm building it up with a mix of Force/Rival XPLR E1 and some custom 50mm wheels from Serenade that have yet to arrive.

May I ask what made you prefer the Tavelo Arden over the Voicevelo Echo?
Thanks

Just geometry and fit really. The Arden is not as aggressive as the Echo.

Finally managed to finish the Tavelo Arden Build last week after some trouble with understanding how the expander plug is working. Also had to re-check the brake cable routing because of what i read in the manual that was provided here (i dont know why i only got this in a forum but not from the dealer or manufacturer, but yeah). Besides that everything went well and i am happy to have finished my second built after the VeloBuild Aero Gravel last year. A lot of parts are coming from my Canyon Ultimate from 2022.

The parts:
- Tavelo Arden Black size L / 500
- Wheels: Nextie nxt49ARX / nxt44ARX Rims + DT Swiss 240s + Sapim cx-ray Spokes
- Conti GP5000 30mm
- Tavelo Avro Handlebar 380x100
- New Sram Force E1 Brakes
- New Magene Teo Crankset
- New Chain (first time Hot wax use)
- Used Magene p515 Powermeter
- Used Pass Quest Aero Chainrings
- Used Sram Rival Rear Derailleur
- Used Sram Force 10-33 Cassette
- New Ahyka Aero Bottle Cages
- Used 105 pedals
- Used Ryet 3D Saddle

Weight (incl. Pedals, cages and computer mount): 7380g

The 0 offset Seatpost is on the way, with that i guess the position will be dialed in. Only thing missing then is a solution for the magene Radar - the standard mount does not really fit aero seatposts and there is currently no STL File for a mount for the arden seatpost. The drivetrain doesnt make any sound at all - so really happy to have finally convinced myself to try hot chain waxing.

Took it for a quick test ride this past weekend. It's a nice bike and rides well. Not much else to say about it.  :D
The frame is stiff enough for me. The bars are very nice, but the hoses were a bit difficult to route. Non-drive side BB was perfect and the cup went in with no resistance. The drive side threads needed a little tlc before I was able to install the BB.
I've only put 20 miles or so on the bike since I built it as I'm moving to a new apartment and it's been raining, but I'm happy with the purchase so far. Hoping to get another 30-40 miles on it tonight.

As far as the build goes, my plan was to buy the frame and transfer the wheels/group/etc. over from my Winspace SLC 2.0, but I ended up reusing only the shifters/brakes and pedals.  ;D I'm running my old wheels for now while I wait for the new set from Serenade (lots of customizations so it'll probably be a few more weeks).

Build as follows:
- Frame: size M
- Bar: Rise 380x100
- Wheels: Old Farsports with Bitex hubs, CX Rays and 45mm rims. Waiting on the new Serenades with carbon spokes, 50mm rims and R2 hubs
- Tires: Panaracer Agilest 700x30 for now. I have a fresh set of black 700x32's waiting for the new wheels to arrive
- Saddle: Ryet Unox. I may go back to my usual Elita One 3143, too early to tell
- Bar tape: Fizik Vento from Aliexpress
- Bottle cages: 13g carbon from Aliexpress
- Shifters: Rival E1
- Derailleur: Rival E1 XPLR
- Crankset: Force E1 with spindle power meter
- Chainring: Garbaruk 48T
- Cassette: Force E1 XPLR
- Chain: KMC X-Flat
- Bottom Bracket: Token
- Rotors: Galfer 160mm with lightweight lock ring from Aliexpress
- Pedals: Look Keo Blade Carbon with titanium spindles from Ebay.
- Also slowly upgrading bolts to titanium from Better Bolts/Ti Parts

Current weight (on the luggage scale) is 7.16kg

A couple more things to note:

Running cables through the headtube was a huge pain due to the smaller top bearing. My Winspace has a similar setup but was much easier to route.

A couple of tiny nicks in the finish. One on the headtube, one near the rear brake mount. Not a big deal for me, but may be a bother to some.

Brake mounts weren't the cleanest I've ever seen. Not bad by any means as I was able to install calipers and center the rotors as-is, but it could probably use a small touch with a blade just to clear a slight bit of paint.

Bar end plugs are a super tight fit on these bars. I tried 3 different sets of plastic plugs and all were very tight.

I'd like to remove the front derailleur mount, but tbh it looks uglier if you do remove it.

KMC X-Flat chain is pretty great and IME quieter than SRAM Red. I bought a few of these from the KMC booth at Sea Otter.

I clearly remember being unimpressed by the marble blue Arden they had on display at Sea Otter, but here we are now.  ;D  ;D  ;D
