Hi there,

I am interested in buying this frame. Do you guys think LightCarbon do any discounts during Black Friday or 11.11 "Single day" ?

They usually don't for new frames

Hi, could you provide a contact email or WhatsApp number? I've written to the general email address on the website but haven't received a reply. Thanks.

Nice, so its tire clearance is pretty decent. I think this seals it for me to get this over the 18D for a two wheelset set up.

Can apparently fit 52 to 54mm. 62mm width total between chainstay & seattube.
I have & ride 23 bikes
Also I ride a lot, like a lot lot

Hopefully this bodes well for my planned 2x setup.

Thanks so much for the post, guys, but now you're making me second-guess the size I should get. I'm 6'1" (187 cm). What would you recommend?

It's quite difficult to advise on bike sizing in general, even more so without any other references of other bikes that fit you or your inseam/torso measurements and ratios.

Would suggest getting a full bike fitting though they can be expensive. Find other posts that have similar measurements to you as well.

I'm almost  decided on the Medium for this frame.

Compared with my SL9, the Medium gravel frame is already a little taller and a little shorter. My SL9 is 544mm stack and I currently run 18mm of spacers, whereas the Medium gravel frame is 565.3mm stack.

If I run the HBR018 bar with its 8mm rise and around 10mm of spacers, the front end should work out roughly 20–21mm higher than my current SL9 position. That sounds about right to me for gravel without making it excessively upright.

On reach, the Medium frame is 7mm shorter than my SL9, and the HBR018 bar itself has 69mm reach compared with 75mm on my THM road bar, so that's another 6mm shorter.

So even if I stick with a 120mm stem, the overall cockpit is already about 13mm shorter than the SL9. If I went down to a 110mm stem, it would be around 23mm shorter overall.

At the moment I'm leaning towards keeping the 120mm stem and 380mm bars, with around 10mm of spacers. That should give me a slightly higher and shorter position than the road bike without making the gravel bike feel completely different.

I'm still considering the HBR20 30mm riser bar as well. If I ran that directly on the Medium frame with no spacers, it would put the front end roughly 33mm higher than my current SL9 setup, so noticeably more upright, but still potentially quite sensible for a gravel bike.

Like anything when you're trying to pick another bike, it's a bit of a minefield balancing fit, looks and how you actually want the bike to ride. Keen to keep reading everyone's thoughts and see what other people have done.

Something to consider if you're going to do heavier duty gravel riding is that the HBR20 may not be strong/gravel oriented enough. I asked about it on some initial emails to Light Carbon and they were worried it wasn't strong enough for very rough gravel.

I'm aiming for the HBR20s myself as I'm not going to be doing more than Cat 3 gravel.

Thanks for that much appreciated.
I emailed my order this morning and have gone for the HBR18.
Now just waiting for a reply.
From experience replies are never super responsive but no big deal I have had to chase before as they are likely busy!

Ask about a update to shipping times.

Size L would be ready end of this Month. 25 Days for painting. My Bike would be here around end if November hopefully

placed my order for the LightCarbon LCG072-D gravel frameset on Monday, 19 October.

I've gone for a size Medium, raw UD gloss carbon finish with white decals, paired with the HBR18 integrated handlebar (380 × 110mm).
Have gone for minimal logos.
I asked for brushed silver logos and was told as this was not somthing they do the price was quoted US$450 for 10 sheets of brushed silver logos as they have an MOQ for decals. Not sure if there is any truth in this but I went for white logos. Head Tube, small GR72 on the shoulders of the fork and a small LIGHTCARBON on the top tube next to the headtube.

Jim at LightCarbon was extremely helpful throughout the ordering process, answering all my questions. :D
Also was more responsive on WhatsApp rather than email.

Regarding availability, I was quoted approximately 50 days for production, as the Medium frame is currently out of stock. Shipping to the UK is estimated at a further 8–12 days.
He did say the next production batch would be ready in 25 days and then said 50 days not actually sure if that includes finishing and shipping. I will ask for clarification but I'm in no rush. But 50 days takes me up to 20th December so it will be a nice Christmas present  :D

I also asked Jim about tyre clearance, particularly as I'm planning to run a 1× drivetrain with 32mm internal-width gravel rims.

He kindly supplied the attached photographs showing the clearance with the following setup:

* Rim internal width: 32mm
* Tyre: 700 × 50C
* Actual inflated tyre width: Approximately 52mm
* Remaining clearance: Approximately 5mm on each side

As many know LightCarbon officially specifies a maximum measured tyre width of 50mm for a 1× drivetrain, or 45mm for a 2× setup. I will be running SRAM FORCE XPLR 1X on this bike.

Jim also explained that they generally recommend around 6mm of clearance on each side for gravel use, allowing for mud and debris which is pretty standard.
With only 5mm clearance, more frequent cleaning may be necessary.

Personally, I'm planning to use nominal 45C tyres, although I'll check their actual inflated width once they're mounted on my 32mm internal rims. But I'm guesstimating 47mm-49mm unless someone can confirm? Also any tyre recommendations would be usedfull.

I've included the photographs Jim supplied, as I thought the clearance information might be useful to anyone considering this frameset.
