no obvious flaws. paint quality very good. can't complain for a sub 600€ frame.

Mine arrived today. I've handled quite a few Chinese frames before, and I wasn't expecting much, but this one is absolutely terrible and potentially dangerous.

This can't be the production quality; I can only imagine I received a sample. The visual aspects (a lot of orange peel in the clear coat, severe overspray on the brake caliper mounts) are one thing, but the bike is also flawed functionally. The front wheel can't be installed because the fork dropouts are undersized. The frame already shows signs of delamination in the top layer, right there when you look inside the storage box. Fork is an absolute joke.

...

I've sent an email to SPcycle; let's see what they say.

Did you get a response yet? This should never have left the factory, even with nonexistent QC.

Nope, contacted them directly on Saturday via email but got no response. Tried Wednesday again via email, their contact form and the WhatsApp number on their website. Neither received a response to my emails nor the contact form and the WhatsApp number is not registered with WhatsApp. I will send them another email today and if I don't hear back from them by Tuesday I'll open a case with PayPal.

I sent them a question about the frame that I ordered, took them a week to answer...
I hope they will deal with your problem in a reasonable way but the quality of your frame raises some questions :(

Did my first ride today.
Rides well. Will change for 13s XPLR as soon as the RD arrives (probably today).

Do you think it will be a quick allroad bike with for example 40mm caracal race tires? I am really torn between this one and maybe the Mondince FM366 but that one has a long waiting time. Do like the looks of the mondince one better though.

Well, being quick always comes down to the riders legs ;)
But seriously:
I think it can work as an allroad frame with 40mm tires, but my initial impression of today is that the Velobuild Aero Gravel feels faster. The VB also takes 2.1” thunderburts and rides well even on 35mm road slicks. So for allroad with the occasional big tire use, I’d go for the VB.
