Is the G028's downtube aero-ish in shape? Or is it more of a rounded rectangular solid kind of shape?

Hard to tell from the pictures.

Aero-ish is a good description.  Its not as "aero" as my Winspace G3, but definitely not a rectangle.  It does flatten out towards the BB like most frames, though.

This is pretty much exactly the build I'm trying to put together (albeit maybe with 55 G-Ones instead of burts), how is tire clearance?

Good clearance.  I dont have a pic, but there is ample room and I havent had any rubbing, even on some light singletrack

Manufacturing quality on my frame looks good on first sight.
But the uncontrolled grindung process for the forks is a big NO.
Lots of fibres hurt, especially in the lower part.

Weight seems good. Those are some rough looking forks though. The voids and pits seem worse to me than the hack job on the surface (if the carbon is thick enough there. which I'd hope it's reinforced for the cable routing hole in it) Certainly makes me question what is deemed acceptable in their QA.

Some of the roughest carbon quality i've seen in years. I get that price is cheap but that's borderline dangerous to ride. Overall frame looks good and could make a solid, modern build, but man not willing to play the lottery with those forks

I agree, borderline dangerous. Not gonna ride that fork.
I wrote an email with the pictures.
But I fear they will not answer. And untill I see a picture of a better manufactured G028 fork, I assume that's just their standard quality more or less. Which is simply not acceptable.

I am not a CF expert and haven't built up a disc framed biks yet. Plenty of rim braked goers.
I would like to see photos of other forks in that area. Is the concern the braking force applied to that area of the steerer?
I see the area where the steerer bearing sits taking a significantly higher force and it seems well formed. Similarly at the top of the steerer where the top steerer bearing sits and above it where the handlebar stem sits will take a higher force but an expander/bung should be placed behind the handlebar stem adding support. Perhaps my thinking is wrong or I am ill--informed, but whilst that looks a bit ugly, it ends up covered and not exposed to significant force.
As said in a post above you would presume that part of the fork also has extra material added where the brake hose travels but I don't see it as a highly stressed area where the grinding has taken place. Personally not too concerned. Can someone explain why I should be?

I'd say flex in the steerer tube with weight on the bars rather than braking force per se, but I don't have any training or certification or work experience in carbon either. I do understand voids in the carbon to undermine its strength.

Maybe it's all cosmetic and they QA the heck out of the bits that matter?

I see the lateral load imparted on the steerer tube by the fork when braking hard as higher than from the bars. Afterall the lever provided by the fork legs is longer than that provided by the bars and stem. If you brake hard enough there will be body plus bike weight acting on that lever. I am still not that concerned as I see the lower steerer bearing resisting most of it. Perhaps I am wrong. I am not a physicist and it is a long time since I studied physics.

Nice build!
How many mm of clearance do you have at the chainstays with these tyres?
I’m planning to build this frame with 60mm slicks (beach tyres) on 32mm internal rims

Has anyone installed a dropper post in their G028?   If yes, can the cable be routed internally?

A comparison with a fork from a similarly priced LongTeng frameset. Never seen a carbon job as messy as on the SP cycle. In addition my frame has bubbles in the top carbon layer in the frame comaparment and several other small defects.

SP cycle answered my mail on Monday and told me the following:
Quote
1. I consulted our structural engineer. They don't think it's a manufacturing defect, it's a paint flaw.
2. The G028 frame is made of EPS + latex inner membrane. There is no chance of carbon fiber delamination.
3. Fork cables are put in and out of the warehouse using rubber hoses. Use epoxy resin AB glue to fix. It’s not a carbon fiber manufacturing defect.
4. The T47 embedded thread is fixed with high-temperature glue. Will not loosen and fall off.
5. The frames we sell provide 2 years of free warranty. Non-man-made damage. If the frame is damaged within 2 years. We will provide a new frame.

I opened a case with PayPal, let´s see.

Unfortunately, that response was to be expected.
I can't speak for your frame, as I can't make it out clearly in your photos.
But if your fork doesn't qualify as a warranty case / manufacturing defect, then nothing ever will.

So they not only have zero quality control, they also offer absolutely no warranty support.

For what its worth:
I have a bunch of chinese fork, been unsing those for years. Every single one is much better than the spcycle. I also have a Carbonda CFR 707 and been riding it happily for 6 years.
I am an engineer with 25 years of experience, specializing—among other things—in composite structures and fatigue calculations.

I have never seen worse quality than the spcycle forks, especially yours and mine.
