I´m done with spcycle.

I need to correct this.

I sent spcycle another photo and asked them to take a closer look.
This time they responded very quickly and generously offered to send me a new fork and even cover the return shipping costs for the old one. That's excellent customer service. I didn´t expect tthe offer to cover the return shipping costs.

So: After all my complaining, here is some appreciation for spcycle regarding how they intend to handle the situation.

(I replied to the last mail and told them about my reinforcement. Perhaps my reinforcement will cause them to withdraw their offer. I would understand that, and I was fully aware of the risk of voiding the warranty when I reinforced the fork myself.)

My fingernails tell a different story. I can lift the loose ends of the cut fibres.
The insde of the fork is messy and you can´t see a lot, because they left the bladder inside and I cant rip it out.

I´ve bought another fork to substitute the original one. Still indecided if I use that or the reinforced spcycle fork, which I´m riding at the moment. I vac-bagged a carbon patch on the spcycle fork (uniddirectional, doubled up rovings on the sides of the brake hose entry + plain weave top layer), which covers the whole area from directly above the 45° bearing seat to well above the brake line entry. (I make carbon and fibreglass parts as a hobby for 30 years and I´ve repaired carbon bicycle frames.) Theres not as much overlay of the reinforcement to the cut fibres in the area that is marked in the pictures. And I can´t monitor the area around the brakehose entry for fatigue cracks anymore. Therefore not a perfect solution. But that patch should reduce some of the stress heat spots, that are cause by the messy composite matrix in that area.

Is that a Large? What colour is it? I like it.

It´s XL in standard colour metallic No12.
(I need 832mm seat height, long legs short torso.)

Rival E1 Brakes with X01 cassette/GX deraillier + Force Crank
Nextie SGX 45 rims (32mm internal width) on DT350 Hubs
G-One RX pro 50mm - 53.5mm wam on those rims.
Richey Switch cockpit (80mm stem)

Clearance in the back is excatly 6mm both sides with a 57mm tyre.
It´s a smidge under 8mm clearance with the RX pro now.

Yes, thank you. The bearing angles seem fine and there is no play in the headset. Everything feels seated properly and feels secure. These are the bearings and spacers sent by spcycle.

I got a similar gap with the Ritchey Switch headset I´m using. I glued a thicker 1.5mm rubber seal to the headset cap to close that gap.

What seal did you use and where did you get it? That seems like a great idea.

I ordered one in Glossy Purple size M from Meinier with soms coupons from AliExpress. I am very curious about this wide tire trend. I want to try some beachraces with it.
I hope this can replace my VB AeroGrav but I am probably too influenced by marketing because I don’t do much gravel and I use my VB as an all road bike 90% of the time on the road. So maybe this is a good reason to build an aero roadbike as well?  ;D

SPCycle G028 / Conti Dubnital Race 29×2.2″

There is a lot of useful information in this forum, thank you all. I'll share photos of one of our first builds. The reviews are extremely positive if anyone thinks.

What size is it, and how tall are you?

I got lots of different rubber sheets with thickness increments of 0.5mm in my workshop and I've just cut it myself.

I pulled the trigger today.  I ordered a large Matt Black frame from the Spcycle store.  Delivery says as late as August 16th.   Plenty of time to start gathering parts and plan to decommission my Seraph GR028.   Today's sale price was $501.60, + $173.91 shipping.  I used a $65.64 off coupon, + $5.02 coins, for a total price of $604.85 USD

Where does one get this 65.64 off coupon? And where are you seeing a sale price of 501.60?

$70 off coupon, but part of the coupon was applied to other items I purchased at the same time.   Coupon code was taken from the coupon thread:   https://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,6201.msg114771.html

It is a pity that I didn’t know about this thread yesterday when I bought some items on AliExpress😭

I know that the processes to save extra money during "sales" has been posted in the past.   There are many ways to save extra money on your orders with a little more planning.

1.  Research and find the Aliexpress "sales" dates throughout the year.   (Unless you are desperate to order and receive a part, plan you purchases around the "big Sales".)
2.  If you use the app,  you can play games, and do other things to earn coins.  (Coins typically give 1% to 4% off of many store items in your cart.)
3.  Often, some stores will have and offer store specific coupons.  Download these when you see them pop up from time to time
4.  Continually read the Chinertown thread that lists the active coupons.   During some sales, coupons can save up to 30%. but typically a max of 18% to 20%.
5. On smaller orders, be sure to use/apply $1.00 off coupons you have accumulated.
6  Occasionally, for no rhyme or reason Aliexpress will let you stack several coupon in your order, but most of the time the coupon code you enter will override other coupons you have entered, so be sure the coupon you enter is the largest discount.
7.  Some savvy buyers will use Paypal and often get other discounts that stack on top of the Aliexpress order.

Aliexpress buyers, what was your purchase to shipment turnaround time? I ordered yesterday and am already getting impatient!
