Why would a rim brake front hub be cross laced on one side but not the other?

Sorry I should learn to read, I thought it was the R240SL.

I've only ever built with J-Bend spokes and aluminium rims before but now I've just got some nice carbon rims to build up (Front 24H / Rear 28H)
One of the hubs I'm considering is the Goldix R180 but it is straight-pull spokes and although I can get dimensioned drawings of the hubs, the one piece of information I cannot find is whether the spoke holes are angled for 2-cross, 3-cross or something else?
Anyone out these with any input ?

I don't have any experience with those hubs, but most 24H wheels will be 2-cross.

You can find the dimension drawings of these hubs in a lot of Aliexpress listings. You can use the DT Swiss calculator to calculate the spoke lengths.

So I went ahead on that, and yes, the 24hole Goldix hub is indeed angled for 2-cross.
However the 28hole rear hub that I bought at same time, from same vendor, is angled for 3-cross.
So I have some Pillar 1423 bladed spokes going spare: 267mm & 264mm 16 of each.
Yours for the cost of postage - UK only

The one "upside" of this is that 3 cross on 50mm deep rear rim turns out to require same spoke lengths as the 45mm deep front rim, so not as many spares to buy.

24 hole straight pull hubs are ALWAYS 2 cross (as long as one side isn't radial, Acros front wheel hubs for example).
If you use DT Swiss spoke calculator, you even can't change crossing, no matter what straight pull hub you choose in the calculator.

I have a Goldix R240sl road hub and I'm needing to replace the rear hub bearings. When it comes to the drive side bearing, do I need to remove the ratchet ring (using the DT Swiss tool) in order to access the bearing ? I know with DT Swiss hubs you need to remove it but with the Goldix hub, I can see the outer race of the bearing and it appears unobstructed (see the attached photos).  I've found an exploded view of the hub which show that the ratchet ring can be removed,  but it appears to be an earlier revision with a single removable ratchet whereas mine has 2 removable ratchets and I'm thinking they may have updated the design to make servicing the bearings easier. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you can see the outer shell of the bearing, then you can remove it without removing the Ratchet ring.
By the way:
 That's not the case for all goldix hubs.

Thanks for that. I believe that the older DT Swiss hubs require you to remove the ring but the newer ones don't. I'm not sure with this Goldix hub. I also found online that you can test the clearance by dropping in a bearing (same size of course) and if it goes in cleanly then you are all good, if not then the ratchet ring needs to be removed.
