Mondince FM356 61mm tire clearance

I’m also fascinated by the tire clearance and waiting for the complete build. A bit surprised by the distance from bottom bracket to fork axle in size S. Compared it with my Carbonda CFR505 with 700x40 tires in size M. I will get huge overlap probably🤔

It would be cool if Mondince could enlarge distance from BB centre to fork axle in size S. Now it is 589 mm and there will be a huge overlap with 700x61 tires probably

Jack from Mondince said that molds of this frame are finished, so S size will have big toe overlap probably. The tire to pedal spindle distance with 29x2,4 tire in S size is 47 mm and in size M is 69,5 mm. So I guess that it is better to choose M size instead of S even if S size fits better.

Compared the new geometry chart with the old one and noticed that the fork became narrower in the upper part on the new geometry chart of FM356. There was a tire clearance of 15 mm in the upper part of the fork on the previous geometry chart. It seems that the fork tire clearance will be smaller in the new geometry chart. That is a pity. Bigger tire clearance is always better. Also I don’t like the recess on the lower tube but I understand that it was done to increase tire clearance. I think that making a slacker angle of the fork would be better than making this recess because it would make the tire to pedal spindle distance bigger (which is good) and would also make bicycle more stable on descents (which is also good). I’m attaching old geometry chart (which is better) and new geometry chart (which is worser).

Bottom bracket height (from the ground to bb centre) will be 253 mm, so the distance from the pedal placed in 6 o’clock position to the ground will be 253-172,5=80,5 mm. I think it is ok for riding on tarmac.
