Mondince FM356 61mm tire clearance

Just did a ~4km test ride to bed in brakes etc. Rides great from first impression. Still have a bit of a chimney above the stem, due to playing around with the stack. Will probably leave the spacers how they are right now (20mm including headset topcap) and shorten the steerer. Running 2.4" Pirelli Scorpion XC RH atm. but I think I'll go down to 2.25" thunder burts for my normal riding.

What is the length of your cranks? Do you have tire overlap?

My Size L frame arrived today. Overall, the finish and build quality look very clean out of the box.

Actual Weights (without thru-axles)

• Frame (Size L): 1,400g
• Fork: 506g
• Seatpost: 250g (definitely on the heavier side)

Initial Observations

• Bottle clearance: Can confirm the bottle clearance issue is still present in Size L. If you mount a bottle cage directly to the downtube storage compartment door, you will need an extender/drop bracket to fit a second bottle comfortably.
• Fork slots: I ordered the fork without utility slots, but the outlines/ghosting of the slots are still visible under the finish. It does not bother me much, but worth noting for anyone expecting a completely smooth profile.
• I dry-fit a Ritchey Switch headset I had lying around, but ended up with an awkward gap at the head tube.

For those who have already built up this frame: which headset model/stem setup did you use, and did you manage to get a flush fit without a visible gap?

I used headset bearing and cover provided by Mondince with the frame and handlebar. Plastic parts are FSA ACR copy from the looks of it. The top bearing is 8mm tall and the gap is like 0,5mm or smaller.

Has anyone tested actual tire widths and frame spacing?  the 57mm version has 6mm on each side of the tire if it's a 57.  Is that the same for this version?

You got the handlebars from Mondince as well, right? My frame only came with a headset for standard stems, but I want to run an integrated setup for a cleaner look.

No, contacting them wouldn't really help me, it isn't something you could resolve without moving the cover higher up on the downtube. Why they didn't place it there in the first place beats me.

For anyone wondering whether a road crank with a spider power meter (like the Magene PES P515 or GEOID PM500) fits: technically it clears, but the chainstay clearance is virtually zero. It's too tight to run safely, so unfortunately I'll have to swap to a different crankset.

Plz, let us know - do you have the problem with tire overlap with 29x2,4 tires and cranks of what length do you use?

My "Morra" ( Italy means Moomin  Groke 😁, but I'm from Finland)
30mm internal wide rims , 60mm speed Pro tyres .
And because of autumn I have mud guards..
With those a little toe overlap, but without there is no.
Boring but good basic 1 x 11 GRX build for me..
This is going to be my adventure and bike packing bicycle..
Oh size M and matte raw carbon color.

honestly, the high stack in combination with the high slope does not look good
