R2 Hub vs XMCS hub

Are there any noticeable differences? Seems like the only difference between DSF/Zen and XMCS. Also wanted to ask what spoke count and spoke width you could would recommend for a lightweight rider. Carbon spokes

Depends on the type of riding you so if your light that irrelevant.
They all offer 230g 20/20 spoke carbon hubs
XMC do there 18/16H hubs
And the THR Although sold by ZEN and DFS is not exclusive to them.
I have 3 set of wheels with H-Works hubs two with the SR270 AND one with the SR318 steel spoke hub , and two with the R2 Hub the hub meant to perform better as it is asymmetric better spoke tension and help with lateral stiffness both wheels have 3.2 mm spoke but I have also chosen the hub as I also like the aesthetic to be honest.

That's a tough question, I don't think there's a legit answer.
These hubs have probably no noticeable differences for the rider, you might need to lab test them to get to the point where you know which hubs are stiffer. With modern CNC machines they will be equally acurately milled. For a decision, comparing bearing size might be of interest. Bigger bearings last longer, but come with a weight penalty.
And if you build your wheels yourself, you need to decide if you want to go for 20 spokes or 2:1 spoke pattern. I'd always prefer a classic spoke pattern with 24 spokes for my own builds.
But still, the big flange from the R2 rear hub to get equal spoke tension is very interesting.

The reason to go with something like the R2 is that you want better long-term reliability of the wheel. I very much doubt you could feel the differences any more than you could feel 5 watts of aero.

Without knowing the specs of the XMCS hub (they don't publish them since they are for their own use), it's hard to tell, but I don't think it's an exaggeration when DFS says the R2 is their best hub for performance with large axles, large bearings, preload adjustment, titanium freehub, wide bracing angles, different flange heights to try and equalize spoke tension, etc.

I was also not sure on what specs to go for. Like spoke width and spoke count. I talked to Angler and he said the R2 hub was a 21/24 hole and didn't say anything about 20/20. Can you get it in 20/20

Angler knows exactly what versions there are, you should trust what he says.
