Thank you very much for the headsup! Can you maybe tell me what bearings are used in the headset?is the top bearing 45°/45° and lower bearing 36°/45°?

I think they're the same. But I didn't look to see if that's 36/45 or 45/45 for both. Either that or I got lucky installing because I didn't really check to distinguish top vs bottom. Oops.

Code name: Black Widow.

Better look at the spacer situation.

But I was able to speak with Daniel and they do have an FSA ACR top cap and spacer kit that he's sending me. Pretty great service. And if you want the FSA system be sure to ask.

Only one ride so far but it's nice. I don't want to comment too much now because it was more of a quick shakeout ride rather than any kind of testing. I have a local loop that I run for aero testing that I'll be riding soon. More to come.

Edit: Oh, and you can definitely run a 38-39mm WAM tire depending on risk tolerance. It clears the seatstay by 6mm but chainstays are a bit tighter, around 2-3mm. That was with a 38.7mm WAM GP5000 35. The picture above measure are GP5000 32, measuring 34.9mm. Tons of room with those.

Edit: 7.11kg with pedals, cages, computer mount but no bar tape. Size 58.

That's a great looking bike and the weight in 58!!!

Quote from: Eddy_Twerckx on October 30, 2026, 07:02:04 PMI have to ask the obvious. If you're worried about stack height being too high, why in the heck are you even considering a riser bar? That makes no sense. The obvious solution seems to be just get a normal bar. Am I missing something here?

Hi mate there's really nothing more to it than I simply want to try a riser bar on this bike.

I can run an 18mm spacer setup, as I do on my SL9, without any issues, and I could quite easily fit a regular bar.

But both my other bikes already have regular bars, and I fancy trying something different on this build.

It's simply personal preference.

By the way Your bike looks great.
Mine should be shipped this week.
And I will double check regrading  spacers.
I did checked a couple of weeks ago and Daniel said they do ACR so I will reconfirm.
In term of finish he said where he gets his frames painted is world class and the same place where many well western brands get there bikes painted apparently. The finish does look good in the photos. Good to hear positive feedback back in frame finishing though, hopefully ride report will also be a postive one
And yes 7.11kgs in 58cm not bad not bad at all!

Quote from: Eddy_Twerckx on October 30, 2026, 07:16:55 PMFrameset came in today. Initial inspection is really good but I couldn't get it built up. A couple quick weights below. Size 58, glossy clear coat over raw carbon.

Frame: 936g bare
Fork: 421g uncut
Seatpost: 174g

Seatpost looks identical to SL8, SL9, Crux. Could drop some weight their with a lightweight option but I don't care too much. Finish is impeccable. I've had a TanTan frame in the past and it was garbage in comparison. This looks comparable to high end western brands. Brake caliper mounts look clean and flat, BB threads are clean.

One note that got me was that the headset top cap and spacers are not FSA ACR. I bought an FSA to Roval transition spacer and it doesn't match up. I had to modify one of the LightCycling spacers to get it to work and the shape is completely different. It'll work but it doesn't look super clean which is a bummer.

Groupset I'm using will be the Sentyeh ECS Pro (WhaleRoad R7) 12-14 speed with the levers that look like SRAM E1. I have a Goldix 12s 10-28t, a SRAM 12s 10-33t, and a SRAM 13s 10-46t that I'll be switching back and forth as needed. Going with a 50t front for now on SRAM Red cranks because that's what I have laying around.

More pictures to come in the next few days.

Question front caliper adapter is it SL8/9 style or Universal?
Any photos of Thru Axles would be great if possible please 🙏
I'm looking at aftermarket lighter options have asked Daniel for specifications but no luck!

Standard front caliper mount. I'll take some pics and get measurements of the thru axles later today.
