Author Topic: Introducing wheeldb.bike: Find and compare (Chinese road) wheel sets  (Read 325 times)

I built a site for finding and comparing (mostly Chinese road) wheel sets: https://www.wheeldb.bike
(There are similar sites, but this one is mine.)

I needed to cut some corners: some wheel companies (lookng at you Light Carbon) allow for so many options, that including all would spam the catalog with hundreds of additional entries.

I concentrated on price, weight, and rim depth, leaving out some details like UCI approvement, ratchet engagement points, bearing material (steel/ceramic). Hope the site is still usuable for you?

There are wheelsets and complete brands missing. If you can think of some, please let me know.

Very nice, well done.
It would be helpful to be able to filter the external width, brand.

Thanks for the idea. I added a slider for "Outer Rim Width". You could use the main search field to filter for brand.

Thanks for the hint. Wheelsfar's complete catalog is more than 500 variations. I only added the lightest and the cheapest for each rim/height combination, which is still more than 100 wheel sets.

Not sure about this Kore brand. Website is just a compilation of affiliate links to different Ali Express sellers. 🤔

Maybe ask whatever IA you used to code the website to add the possibility to filter rims that have the option to be ordered without spoke holes.

Wow!  Fantastic site you created!    I build the majority of my own wheels.  Your site will make it easier to compare assembled wheels, versus when I purchase separate components.  Sometimes, I will purchase complete wheels when the price is right.   Price versus weight, and what components they use is good for me to quickly look up

- Would it be easy to add a feature that states if the wheels are tubeless ready, or tube required.

Over the past 5 years, I spend the majority of my time riding my gravel bike, bikepacking, and on MTB bikes.  Down the road, it would be great if you could add filters for adventure/off-road wheels and MTB wheels.

These days, I primarily built myself wheels for Bikepacking, and XC MTB riding.  These wheels are more often 28 or 32 spokes and I want them to be heavier duty, but as lightweight as I can get away with.
