CS-M04 27.5+ plus full suspension

Look at what I just noticed on Carbon Speed website:

Now, I have to keep control to not order it just now!!
I think this is 100% what I need: 27.5+, full sus, slacker head tube angle.

But that's a significant investment... the frame + shox + new rear hub. Thankfully the seatpost is the same size as my current Reverb
The problem is that I'd see that frame with a Pike, 130 or 140 mm travel (that would add up to the bill).

That would add about 1.2 kg to my current setup but I don't anticipate that to be a problem (would land around 12 kg).

OK, am I the only one getting crazy with this frame??

Good point, the chainstay length is only 2mm shorter than the 036, so unless the swingarm brace is closer to the rear axle - which is unlikely due to tire clearance issues of the 27.5+ size - no reason why the 29ers wouldn't fit and have a ton of room. Fork length spec is 24mm longer (530mm vs 506mm) than the 036, so could handle a longer fork for a more trail-oriented bike, or a shorter fork to steepen things up. Only thing that's funny is this one is 100mm rear, and the 036 is listed as "110-120mm".

True, no reason why a regular 29" tire would not fit. That being said, if you want a XC short travel 29" frame, then... this is just not what it is. Pick a proper 29" short travel frame
This is really an AM 27.5+ frame. 100mm rear travel is plenty with 2.8/3.0" tires. With 29" tires it's not plenty anymore for AM program.

Still, the single chainring is a showstopper to me. Also, note that the rear axle is Boost (148 mm), that was not a no-go but a clear pain to me.

This frame is very tempting. I'm thinking about building up a b+ bike in the spring. If the shock on my Mach 5 fits...I may seriously consider this frame.

I'm also seeing a 3 year warranty on many of the Carbonspeed frames.  Looks like Peter is doing some good marketing.

I wonder for those of you who have the 27.5 inch wheel version of this, how do you feel about the bike being dedicated for cross country trails?

Specifically I have two concerns:

1. How does the slacker head tube angle feel on long climbs

2. More importantly, what is the height from the cranks to the floor?

At the end of the day on a graduate student salary, I am trying to decide between a used Santa Cruz 5010 CC frame made for decent XC trails, or being a badass and building my own.

Any suggestions beyond this frame will also be greatly appreciated : ).
