what is the seatpost clamp size please for the HF 057
you bought or utilized.
I have a 36.4 and it's too big and the clamp is entirely closed and not holding the seat post.

+1 for the Salsa seatpost clamp. Thing is awesome. Not light, but damn, it's solid.

For starters.. When ordering this frame, you're given the option of purchasing the headset with the frame which at first seems ideal.. There's the standard Neko headset that costs about $15, and some vendors give the option to upgrade to a FSA headset that goes for about $25.

In case those link destinations change.. That's the "Cane Creek 40-Series IS42 Integrated Upper" and the "Cane Creek 40 IS52 1.5" Integrated Lower As"

It seems that some guys are running into some issues with both the Neko and FSA headsets, in that special shims may be required to make the headset fit properly. Now perhaps this problem only affects a small portion of users.. really not sure.. but either way - both of the cheaper headset options seem to wear out prematurely.

Of course, make your own decision, but personally, I read too many negative things about the headsets to want to put it on my super pimp carbon frame.. The Cane Creek for me 100%.

Is there any difference between the Cane Creek IS52/30 and the IS52/40 lower . I presume it's to do with the height of the part? Is it preferable to use the IS52/40? I am a terrible weight weenie at times and was wondering if the IS52/30 would work.

You are correct. The /30 or /40 designation is based on the steerer tube of the fork. Straight steerer will take the 30 and a tapered will take the /40. Even if you get the wrong one the first time, they lower race / seal assembly is only $10 to $12 and can be purchased separately. It will make no difference on height.
