Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts
@joro1 Unreal paint job! hope your wife likes it!

New article on the Synonym https://www.mbr.co.uk/reviews/full-suspension-bikes/ns-synonym-tr-2

Do other notice the following on the Carbonda?

Yes, the balanced riding position slows everything down so you have more time to think, but this just lets you focus more on how ineffective the rear suspension is. Not only does it lack the sensitivity needed to track terrain, the rebound damping is super-slow even when set to the fully open position.

That's something I'd be interested in as well!
There has been another review on bikeperfect.com and they say the frame is quite flexy and not very stiff, is that the superlight version or are they using the normal version for the TR model?

Planning to get a new bike for next year and this one made it onto my shortlist. I've come to the conclusion that the size XL would be the right choice for me (asked NS what they would suggest for 187cm and 89cm inseam and that's what they told me).
One of the remaining questions for me is rear travel, how much travel does this bike really have with a 42.5mm stroke shock? Carbonda say it's 100mm with a 40mm shock, NS get 120 out of 42.5mm stroke length, is it all down to the different rear triangle? Is the FM936 somewhere in between?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts
Just a heads up for those interested.  In my conversations with Wing, trying to decide between the FM1001 and FM909, for a DC type bike, he mentioned that the FM936 may be offered to end users with official provision of 115-120mm rear travel - (N.B. they already do this for brands).

I was really hoping for a 909DC rather than 936DC, as the dirt is so fine and so much of it here, that it's like riding powdery snow on some trails.  I've decided high horizontal rear shock mount is definitely the way to go.
That sounds very interesting, rear travel was more or less the only reason I didn't go for the 936 in the first place. If you put a 130mm fork on the bike together with a dedicated 120mm rear end its geometry is almost Rocky Mountain Element like and that would be a big reason to reconsider ...

Re: FM1001 / FM1156 - 135mm frame After exchanging a few messages with Wing I've finally ordered my 1001 (and a 707, but that's a different story). Really looking forward to build the bikes.
Now painting, shipping and some shopping. Even though the 1001 will mostly use parts from my current bike. I've already ordered the shock, a new dropper and the air shaft to extend my Fox 34 to 140mm. Almost everything else will be switched over.

Re: FM1001 / FM1156 - 135mm frame  My frames arrived today after only 13 days on the road, really like the paint job and the quality of the frame. Looks and feels very sturdy. My XL frame comes in at 3kg, incl. axles and shock placeholder. A bit heavier than I had hoped, but still fine.

Can't wait to build it, but first I'm off to work until Saturday. Also waiting for the rims to arrive and I still have to make a tire decision. Fork has to be rebuild to 140mm and MegNeg installed on the damper. But I also have a CFR707 waiting to be finished, I guess I'll do that one first.

Re: FM1001 / FM1156 - 135mm frame
How tall are you Helmat? I am 191cm, want to order but numbers look small to me.

I'm 1.87cm with an 88cm inseam. I'm finished building but unfortunately I haven't been out on the bike yet due to a foot injury...
But from sitting on the bike at home it doesn't feel that small too me. My previous bike was a 2020 Trek Top Fuel XL that fit me really well and I'd say the 1001 feels about the same from a sizing perspective.
I'll upload some pics of my build soon.

Re: FM1001 / FM1156 - 135mm frame Finally first ride today, some minor adjustments to be made (brake lever angle, saddle position, one more volume spacer for the fork) but that's it. Bike feels great, size is perfect for me. Suspension also feels very good.
If anyone's interested in final specs, I can add those.
