Re: Another Tan Tan FM10 It was about a month longer than they'd thought. That said, it will be the first production XL mold of the frame, so I wasn't surprised it took them a while to get things going. I'm interested to see how the measurements match up to what they say on the site. I was patient and did not rush their production schedule, I didn't want any corners cut in manufacturing or testing. i was able to get a response from Lisa at TanTan every week or so, so the communication was better than I expected (thanks Lisa!) so I'm very excited to see the final product.

Re: TanTan FM10 29/27.5+ BB shell width is 92mm, spot on.  Boost or not, the BB shell should be the same.  The chainring offset should match the rear spacing.  For Sram its 3mm inboard offset for boost, or 6mm offset for 12x142.  For what its worth, I do have boost.  The chainline is certainly a sharp angle, but I wouldn't call it any worse than any other bike Ive owned.

Re: TanTan FM10 29/27.5+
Isn't it a 54mm gap?  That's what the specs say.

The bearings are very sligtly wider than 54mm.  I would believe 56 could be correct, maybe even 58.  To fit a 54mm trunnion shock in there you need to use the two 10mm ID washers that come with the hardware kit.  I recall hem being closer to 2mm thick, but thats going by memory.  Nevertheless, the distance from bearing to bearing is greater than 54 mm.

Re: TanTan FM10 29/27.5+ MX72 and chinerrider, both your bikes look great!  Good luck with 'em!  Just watch out for loosening bolts, and keep the loctite close by!

Using the "new" button to go to unread posts within a thread. Just thought I would point out a useful feature that some users may not realize exists. If you click on the orange "new" button next to the thread titles it will take you to the first unread post in that thread. A bookmark of sorts. Better than clicking through dozens of pages trying to figure out what post you last read.

Re: TanTan FM10 29/27.5+ My last frame was a FS27, which was identical to the fs29 except it came in boost spacing, while the FS29 was standard 12x142.  Perhaps something similar here?  Looking at my frame with the 27.5x3 stuffed in there, it sure looks like it would fit 29er wheels as long as you didnt go too big on the tire.

Re: TanTan FM10 29/27.5+
What 3.0s are you running and do you have much clearance to the stays?

I'm running 2.8 nobby nics on nextie jungle fox 52 rims (45mm inner width) and the tires measure out at 2.980" when fully stretched at 18 psi.  There is just shy of 1/4 inch clearance to the stays.  Slightly more than my previous frame.

Re: Another Tan Tan FM10 Emu - here is a pic of the rear tire. I think you could comfortably do a 2.8, a 3.0 might be pushing it but depending on your rim, you might be able to squeeze it in. These pics are with a Maxxis DHR2 2.6 (the wide tire version) on a 40mm rim (33.6mm ID). The rim is a light bicycle AM733 if you want to hunt down more specs.

Re: Light Carbon LCFS917 XC Frame Hello guys, I'm new on this forum but I read it for a pretty long time now because I build and ride Chinese frames since 6 years now.
The last one was a Hongfu FM258 that I loved, but unfortunatelly it was stolen on my car. I found a KTM Scarp Sonic to replace it for this (strange) season, but it doesn't give me the same pleasure as the Hongfu, and my addiction for full black frames has resurfaced  ;D
So I was looking for a new one, with a much modern geometry than the Hongfu, and the LCFS917 caught my eye despite the little information we can find about him.
So I tried my luck without conviction, by sending an email to LightCarbon, and I was pleasantly surprised when they replied that I could indeed buy this frame !
For the moment I have paid the deposite, and the frame should be ready end of October. I will give you update at this moment and make a little review of it of course.

(Sorry for my English, I am a French guy and I know that we are not known for our level in foreign languages  ;) )
