Re: Softail titanium MTB 29/27.5+ (all mountain - bikepacking) Final build. 11,5 kg without pedal and GPS mount, 11,7kg ready to ride.

Here is the monster  :o

Here are some details

First test ride :
not tested yet on the trails. Tested on road (1st SAG setup). The position is perfect, exactly how i calculated it.
Once suspensions locked, the bike is very responsive. Once oponed, the rear suspension is not as smooth as a "rear" full suspension bike, but not as rigid as a hardtail. It feels like an elastic hardtail  ;D

Very looking forward to test it in the mountains.
Before going bikepacking, i need to sew the packs. Something that should look like this (but with very small saddle bag)

Re: Airwolf YFM-026 - 1 month in Brill thanks for the review!

I'm British so get the Mint Sauce references! I've also ridden 7th Secret on a Giant Reign... glad the Airwolf was a blast.

I just got one too, not built yet but went for the 142 rear end. I got it as you say for those less Gnar rides but glad it can cope on the fun stuff too.

Re: Getting kicked around by LightCarbon, should I dispute with paypal? Best shipping and delivery I had was ordering from SPCycle. They were blunt and straight to the point when messaging, but they didn't beat around the bush. It took exactly 10 days to prep the raw frame, on the 11th day it shipped and by the 14th day it arrived on my doorstep. From that experience, I'd consider buying from them again.

Re: Ultralight hardtails
I had an airwolf frame in large. I'd need to check the number but that was 786g new. Mine cracked relatively quickly but it was a lively bike to ride. In the end my build was 7.6kg rigid. Lots of others had good experiences with that frame but I never have good luck. Any carbon frame and Ti frame i've owned has cracked somewhere and none of which were chiner (except the airwolf).

I don't come on here often but I think i'll give that SPCYCLE frame a go. I have lots of parts on my cannondale flash which could go over to that frame and i plan to build some 1kg wheels with those carbon/ti spokes to see if they're any good.
Sounds like we should let you beta test then lol

Re: Lewis Bike (Trickstuff 2 & 4 piston clones) I asked about pad style/material and shipping cost for a set of LV2 in silver to the US.  Let's see what happens.  I hate to be the guinea pig on this one, but perhaps I'll bit the bullet for you guys.  ;D

Re: Best and worst overall quality/value components/tools/gear from AliExpress? These are my two best:

Kalloy Uno Ultralight 7050AL Stems: $17.50 https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255799842115476.html
These are very light and generally a quality component. Barely heavier than the Darimo AL stems and less than 1/10th the price.

Ridenow TPU Tubes: $6-$8 each for the 24g versions: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805247862356.html
Light and good quality TPU tube. They make a lighter version, but I have yet to try them.

Worst:
Any pulley wheels or ospw stuff. Total junk bearings. Most use the 689 size. If you want to play with fancy bearings in your RD, look for people reselling Kogel ones that they picked up for free during their sales.
