looking like a bike which is very right here on this forum. China almost all the way.
For what kind of comments are you looking?
Do you want to hear if you have chosen the cheapest components or if you are having mistakes when it comes to price estimations?

For now, I'd change the crank to Fovno Phantom, as I don't know the one you listed

found another possibility through a user from mtb-news.de

it's available in 12x142 and 9x135, so no boost. also head angle is pretty steep.

http://haidelibikes.com/product/showproduct.php?id=78

also abailable on AliExpress.

Thing is, in XL it looks like a bow (I think it's the XL on that picture

for me the airwolf is no option and i don't like dropped seat stays on a hardtail MTB frame. I really like the epic or spark way of looks.
So keep searching.

got word from TanTan, no XL available of FM199-B.
FM799 availabe in XL, but takes two months to produce. Thing is I don't like the shape of the tubes, especially the down tube

got word from Carbonda, that FlyBike used to deliver frames to TanTan, that's why they might still use the FM (flybike mould) prefix.

Flybike has a really ice XL 29" in their portfolio (FM916 - see appendix). Thing is, Carbonda won't sell it because they don't have enough inventory to store them. They are kind of focused on gravel and full suspension right now. They must order at least 30 frames from Flybike to make it possible. So either we make abig group buy, or it's a no.

Thank you for the link.
It looks great. Maybe not the dropped chainstay.

Who will buy it first ? ;)

A view people on mtb-news.de did and they are pretty satisfied.

I attached the Flybike 2020 catalogue limited to 29er XL hardtail frames, because we all love Carbonda.
Tomorrow I get the 2021 catalogue.
Still vague if we can get those, as sometimes these are private moulds.

@carbonazza
I wonder why TanTan uses FM for their model names. This one is like Flybike. May that mean that Flybike might have the same moulds?

I'd like to know this as well. I asked if 165 x 45 would work, but he responded with please use 165x40.

I'm not real sure the FM936 is a 165x42.5 is 120. The site says 165x40 is 100mm. I think NS bikes uses a different rear end with the same front triangle. NS bikes has a 165x38.5 for their 100mm bike.
Use what Carbonda tells you to use!
With the FM936 people found out that a 165x42,5 fits and a 165x45 definitely don't! There is no such experience with 909.
By the way, the 42,5 over a 40mm won't give you 120mm instead of 100mm. More like 106mm.
The NS used a whole different triangle

I don't know why TanTan and Trifox and others don't invest in a XL mould. Would be very beneficial if you ask me.
The FM199 looks amazing with it's filigree tubes and modern geo.

Flybike-asia.com has one, but only B2B if you can arrange it.
I've built one for my business partner, few years ago, and he loves it, with a Pike fork and in 29+ tires

Pieter who left but then came back (is he?) did sell them.

Should we proceed in the other "XL / 21" thread?
Carbonda is an option, but not looking nice for me.

We could, but for me I'm not completely sold on the lines and design of that frame.
Any other clue? The TanTan and OG Evkin ones are looking amazing because of their filigree tubes.

Nope sorry. Are really interested in such old/outdated geometry?
