Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame These are my current projects. The 168 and 086 frames. I've always used plastidip on my frames. It allows me to peal to base and do a new paint every year or two. Plastidip doesn't come close to normal paint. The major issue is pealing and taping lines. I do hope you guys enjoy seeing how these bikes turn out.

Re: Winspace G2 Gravel/Road Help (1st build) Does the Gr044 frame match what you want?

Aren't there single speed 32 and lower mtb rings you could mount on that crank? If you already know you'll be going slower ahead of time. Just swap the double for single ring.

Maybe get a 11-34

A 46-36 would be harder climbing but nicer cruising on flats.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame I will make full build post. hopefully within a week.

I ran the 4 cables via the large opening of bars.  I figured there would be less tight bends. Plus I wanted fully internal.

Fork
I ran two housings left and two right of fork. One housing on right going into the fork. If you run housings same direction around fork it wants to pull and or pinch.  I ran cables into housings before fully compressing everything.

I slammed the stem no spacers needed and I used jagwire keb-sl and lex cables.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame Here is a list. I didn't take pics of everything on scales.  There is definitely some guessing for items. If it ends in 0 I didn't weigh it or can't remember what I scaled the parts.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame Start with the bad. I'm doing a big gamble on these cranks. They are hollow arms and 7075 spindle. I figured if my 63kg body brakes them no one should ever use these.  The inside chainring is yellow not color changing.

Onto the fun part. The crankset is 650 gram and the bling rings.  Bike is now 7.38kg 16.25lbs.

Re: Juin Tech GT-F brake calipers (dual piston) I ordered these
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mMWwGLQ

I don't know if these are the 05 model you guys were talking about. I just see how the piston and cable mount position should be on the inside. This should allow less bending and binding of the cable with the housing leaving the rear chain stay and front fork.

I have the ztto which I assume are the bc02 brakes and the rear cable has binding from the sharp angles it goes to the cable mount on the brake. This causes the pads no to fully release.

Re: Pulled the trigger on the Elite Wheel DRIVE wheelset Thanks sigma1 for hooking me up with a set.  I'm very excited to have them.  I was planning to build a set of light bicycle with all the weight savings and no nipple holes.

I decided to go with the drive wheels.  They look different, sub 1300g disc, Wide enough inner, cheaper.

I have rims for wider tires and for nasty roads weather. So these just need to be good in the 25-32 tire range. These will only be 200g heavier (rotors) than my lightest rims brake wheels (1309g with 50mm) which is super close. These could bring my 168 close to 7.1kg  ;D

Re: Juin Tech GT-F brake calipers (dual piston) I received the Onirii brakes.  I took some pics of how they look and weight vs the ztto I have.  I replaced my rear caliper and the cable binding is gone.  I was worried the compressionless housing was ruined from the kinking.  The cable goes to the caliper without bending over the chainstay. Yay! They are heavier by 10g.  I took a pic of the pistons. They are more expensive. I don't like logos in general. If you buy black might as well expect you really got white. Since that's what shows on the right side.

Re: BTLOS Wheels Was curious and decided to build up a set.  Their site was very user friendly for choosing options to build your wheelset.
