Re: L-TWOO RX 2x12 road groupset Here is a rather revealing interview with a Sensah rep conducted at last year's bike show

Electronic shifting should arrive in rudimentary form sometime in 2023 and will take until 2026 at the latest to properly mature. The problem with hydraulic braking right now is that the factories are still preoccupied with fulfilling export orders for big name brands and there isn't enough capacity to do a run for Sensah. They're also working on a carbon crankset that is optimised for improved FD shifting performance. Exciting stuff!

Re: L-TWOO RX 2x12 road groupset
I think others in China will easily beat Sensah to the punch with both MTB and Road electronic.  I hope to be wrong, but Road electronic with hydraulic disc may be a shit show for a while if you can't swap in one of the usual suspects' calipers.

Yes. Sensah groupsets aren't very good to begin with. The general quality and performance of the Empire Pro is around the level of Tiagra 4700 and 105 5800, let alone 105 R7000. Electronic shifting and hydraulic braking will require a lot of R&D and investment that I don't think Sensah is willing or able to commit. And seeing prior attempts at hydraulic braking like Zoom's HB-875 doesn't inspire confidence to say the least.

Caliper compatibility shouldn't be an issue though. IIRC pretty much every mineral oil caliper out there excluding SRAM is interchangeable. What can't be swapped out however are the master cylinders in the levers.

Re: Fovno Crank sets Another day, another new crankset! The FC-PR2-A1 from SENICX is the lightest one in their lineup. 29mm alloy axle and CNC chainrings. The FC-PR2-A2 variant has lower spec chainrings and you can tell them apart at the SRAM 3 bolt interface area. A1 has a circular intent there while the A2 is completely flat. Choose the FC-PR3-A1 or FC-PR3-A2 if you want a 24mm steel axle.

Re: Velo Build R-099 Build
Does that mean you're willing to pay $50 towards opening the mould?

Is that how much opening a mould costs? I honestly wouldn't mind paying extra (up to 200 USD?) for changes like a round seatpost (27.2, 30.9 or 31.6mm), headset system of choice (DCR, ACR, Token or First) , FD braze-on mount delete (1x), RD direct mount hanger, 32c clearance, and revised brake calliper bolt hole spacing (160mm front/rear flush mount like Open Mind & 3T Exploro Racemax). All those features added to a Workswell WCB-R-369 would be an absolute dream of mine.

Re: Chinese carbon MTB cranks The SkyPivot crank (road and MTB versions) has gone through several design iterations and the latest 3rd generation still isn't available for sale due to production constraints. But the company responsible (Incolour) has more than enough money behind and they've even got plans to spin off SkyPivot into its own brand. SkyPivot cockpits and concept frames were shown off at the 2021 bike show.

The Neutron crank (road only) had some QC issues and Neutron themselves doesn't exist as a company anymore due to some business disagreements. I believe one of the guys involved went off to found Furay who have since rebranded the Neutron OSPW. Old stock of the Neutron carbon crank and titanium crank are pretty hard to come by these days and there is no indication that they'd be produced again.

Re: Speeder SC-R48 Apparently it is the SLC 2.0

The only other Aethos type frame I can think of is the Workswell WCB-R-366

Reply from justin,

MOQ: 10 sets

Price: US$660/set

This for the SC-R48D? Different geometry aside, the SLC 2.0 Disc costs 1580 USD...

The quotes are kind of all over the place though. One guy said 675 USD for a SC-R48V while another guy is asking 550 USD for his barely used second hand SC-R48D.

Regardless, I'm just drooling at the prospect of a SC-R48V build with an unbranded black direct mount set of those fake eeBrakes.

Re: Speeder SC-R48
Strange that there is a cable route through the top tube, not sure what is going on there.

Rear brake cable exit left over from the rim brake model? it'll be useful for externally routed dropper seatposts on a gravel bike

Re: Skywing Carbon - Anyone Heard of Them?
Also...is it just me, or are all these D2C frames starting to look the same? Are they just mostly coming from the same factories, but but being represented by different sales agents?

Before getting into cycling, I had considered starting a private label custom suit business. After speaking with about 5 or 6 different agents on WhatsApp I determined based on the cloths, buttons, and suiting styles that the majority of these agents were working out the same factory. Or at the very least factories in the same city or even same street.

Private label exists at every level in any industry. Sarto makes frames for brands like WyndyMilla, Heroin, Condor etc. just like how Caruso makes/used to make suits for Ralph Lauren Purple Label and Brooks Brothers Golden Fleece among others.
