Title: Recommendation for extra wide Road style SPD shoes
Post by: Yappie28 on January 13, 2025, 02:42:55 AM
Hi

can anyone recommend a brand which offers extra wide shoes with SPD cleats? I am currently using the widest Lake gravel shoes available and they are right on the edge of being uncomfortable (width 104mm at Size 39).

I assume you have a very large toe because the Lake are amont the widest in the market.
Have you tryied to enlarge the shoes asking a shoemaker? They have special equipment to creare more room

I also suggest Shimano S-Phyre RC9 (RC903)

I guess I just have wide feet from wearing barefoot shoes and martial arts…

You might want to consider the "silver" ones, as it looks like the upper is mesh, which should stretch. they have a sizing chart, maybe the soles are narrow in the 1st place, that's for you to see.
If these existed in white, i might try them. A friend said he tried the sworks, up from his non sworks spec shoes, and he liked them a lot because the upper is mesh and therefore super comfortable. Most of my riding is done in the heat, so i'd be curious to try that, but have zero interest in spending 300+ eur for shoes.
