Title: Crankset choice. Rotor aldhu
Post by: rodribanez on April 30, 2025, 08:07:45 AM
Hello.

I'm thinking about replacing my 50-34 crankset. I'm torn between Rotor Aldhu alloy or another carbon option, such as Lexon, Riro, Racework... The price is similar, and I think the weight is similar too.
Which option should I choose?

Regards

If you're willing to pay for a rotor, go for Elilee or Cybrei and get something that's better in all regards

In case you want to have a powermeter on a shimano groupset: I opted for SRAM Red E1 crank with sigeyi axo powermeter and Shimano chainrings -> 581g in total

Thanks but Rotor Aldhu crankset with chainrings costs me €120, and the options you're giving me are worth €300...

Thanks, but I don't want a powermeter.

oh right, sorry I missed the "alloy" part

well what are your priorities? the carbon options will be marginally lighter, but none will be even remotely close in quality to rotor

My priority is to increase lightness. Right now, I have a Senicx PR1, which I think weighs around 900g. And I want the whole thing to run smoothly, without having to constantly adjust it. It'll be a 50-34.
I also want to change the cassette to a 12-speed, and I'm torn between an 11-34 Ultegra or an ultralight ZTTO from AliExpress.
 Thanks.
