Title: Magene P715 powermeter pedals
Post by: kbernstein on May 15, 2025, 05:21:33 AM
They're finally here. https://www.magene.com/en/power-meters/220-p715-pedal-based-power-meter.html
500USD. No europe pricing yet. Available in both SPD-SL and Look KEO. Only 8 grams heavier than assiomas
Pretty good on paper, let's see if they're as reliable as assiomas

Expensive compared to the spindles, wondering what Ali price will be with coupons :-)

I'd rather buy two P505s than pedal based power meters.

I'd rather buy two P505s than pedal based power meters.

I've come to the same conclusion. The 24mm PES crank will work well with basically anything, is accurate and consistent, is ridiculously cheap and allows me to use my preferred Shimano pedals. While pedals are easier to move between bikes, a crank is really not much harder.

If the new assiomas drop the pods and don't add too much to the price, these could be DOA.

I got my current Assiomas (dual sided) for £400 so not sure what the USP is here.
