Title: Wheel bearings

Just wondering, anyone have good experience with Aliexpress bearings for wheels? Looking at potentially replacing the bearings on my wheels and was wondering if there are any recommended options.

In general the reputable brands are better because:
1) they adhere to the ISO / ABEC standards ensuring tight dimensional tolerances and roundness.
2) they use higher quality materials. No-name brands might  cut corners with softer steel, poorly heat-treated parts, or inconsistent ball quality.
3) they use superior sealing and lubrication. The bad sealings will  fail quickly, allowing contaminants in—accelerating wear.

I'm not saying cheap bearings don't have any of the above, but cutting corners in material, tolerances, quality is often the reason why they cost less.
For bottom brackets I stick to NTN or SKF, for wheel bearings (where the hubs provide a primary seal, I dare to use cheap bearings as well with good longevity.
One of the reasons for this strategy is the loads are higher on those bearings and it takes more time to replace BB bearings.

how have these NTN bearings been holding up?


since the topic of ABEC has been brought up... then how about Fushi bearings https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10000264390470.html claims ABEC-7

I can get quality bearings locally in Poland for similar prices so don't see a point of getting a potential counterfeit from ali. I would advice anyone to first search for a good bearing online store locally. Don't chose ones selling typically bike bearings as those will charge twice for same thing :)
